      Customer Support Representative Interview

      Jan 28, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 15Five in Dec 2018

      Interview

I saw the job listing on a remote job website called Pangian and applied with my cover letter and resume. The next day I was asked by the manager of customer support to submit answers to a few questions. From there I went through three interviews- the first with the manager, the second with two members of the customer support team, and the third with another member of the customer support team. Since I was applying for a remote position and was traveling in Europe at the time, all interviews were held via video chat (rather than in one of their three office locations).

      Customer Support Representative Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at 15Five (Raleigh, NC) in Jul 2019

      Interview

As it’s a remote role, all interviews were video calls using Zoom. First I had an initial 30 minute phone interview with a recruiter. On that call the recruiter told me about 15Five and the role and asked standard questions about my resume. In the evening after the initial interview I was sent a written assignment to complete as a next step. I followed up a week after I sent my responses and was told they were still reviewing responses but that I'd hear from them in a day or two. I didn't hear back for four more days and really resigned myself mentally that they’d decided not to continue the process with me. (This is my only critique of the process - more communication around time frames would be great!) But then I was contacted to schedule a group interview. This group interview was much less intimidating than I anticipated. It was with four lovely members of the customer support team. They opened up with introductions and a fun icebreaker question, then more pretty standard questions about how I handle difficult customers, what tech I've used in the past, etc. I also had time to ask my own questions. Two days later I was contacted to schedule an interview with the two hiring managers for the team. They asked me more in-depth questions about what I was looking for, why I was interested in the role, what strengths I would bring, and what my weaknesses are. Nine days later I was contacted and told I was one of their top candidates, and to have three references ready for them to contact if we decided to mutually move forward. The next day I was asked for those references. (I wasn't sure if this meant I was their chosen hire, or if they were asking for multiple candidates' references.) It took them longer than expected to get in touch with my references (the fault of my references, not theirs), but I received a verbal offer nine days later. All in all, it was a very relational interview process, and I felt that each interviewer really wanted to get to know me as a human, hear about my values and what makes me tick, and not just hear me recite my resume. It was definitely a quite long process, but extremely worth it! I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this team.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at 15Five (Sacramento, CA) in Apr 2019

      Interview

I was contacted via phone from an HR representative. This was a pretty typical screening phone conversation. After the phone screening I was sent a series of questions to answer. These questions were a little more specific to the CSR role. I was then contacted to do a group video interview via Zoom since it was a remote role. The group interview consisted of each member asking me questions. Some role related, some not. After the 1st interview I was contacted by the department manager for a final interview. This interview was 1 on 1 via Zoom video. After this final Interview I was then contacted to provide 3 references from the HR team. Yes, they did check my references. After reference check cleared I was then sent an offer letter. Through out this entire process the HR person was super responsive and kept me up to date which I appreciated greatly.

      Interview

This was by far the nest interview experience I’ve had. From start to finish the process was seamless, the recruiter made sure to keep me updated with next steps and answered any question I may have had. One thing I really appreciated was having the team interview me. It made it so they got to know me and I got to know who could be my potential teammates. It shows they care about cultivating the culture and ensuring the next piece of this support puzzle works. Step one was speaking to the recruiter for 30 minutes Then a written test answering questions Then interview with the team And finally interview with the director of support. I’m so thankful to be joining such a dynamic team and company!
