Does PayPal offer relocation assistance?

Pros

Perks and Benefits (pantry, pool tables, free lunches on Tuesdays, etc) Work environment (open concept quiet space with great ergonomic desks/chairs, big meeting rooms, etc) The sell of an all-inclusive non-discrimating work culture Friendly and transparent management Branded and very stable as a company (publicly-listed) Work/life balance (if you are a full-timer and like the predictability and established frameworks and processes in your role and scope) Global company so you get to work with people in different markets from all over the globe. Gives you opportunity for travel and relocation or transfers to other roles, various countries, markets and offices as well.

Cons

Lack of innovation in products (as a marketer, it is tough and quite uninspiring) Lack of competitive edge in markets and offerings outside of the US and core markets. A lot of legacy issues and do not embrace the new world, fast changing landscape of today. Cannot pivot and embrace change fast enough (still very backward in approach to marketing, branding, social media, content, ads, etc) Too many meetings with little value and therefore stakeholder management which inevitably leads to a political environment. Slow turn-over and very limited space to be creative or push good ideas General lack of innovation, fervour and excitement in the product, mission, and vision of the compnay leads to everyone just coming to work for work. There isn't a buzz of excitement or a spirit of diligence in creating and pushing out great work. Two restructures in the last 6 months has caused a lot of ambiguity, people being let go and a general sense of being lost in the company (job scope, targets, work flows) for the past 7 months and counting.. Very cliquish culture. Even though the company shouts about a lot of values, it seems to just be for strong employer branding and PR, it is not truly enforced or embodied in the staff and the spirit of their offices and work culture.

Gives you opportunity for travel and relocation or transfers to other roles, various countries, markets and offices as well.

Does PayPal have a sabbatical or career break policy?

Pros

Globally recognised company, good company values and strong value prop in market, the company holds fun social events from time to time. Great sabbatical program to loyal employees who can stick around for 5 years. Discounted gym membership and great health cover with on site massage available, flexible working conditions (but this can be very dependent on your direct manager and which team you are in.)

Cons

Free Wednesday lunch is no more, broken processes with no clear guidance for employees to follow, moving towards more of a corporate banking culture with above average incentive program. (Could do with a revamp) Lack of support and training has lead to employee turnover and team mates feeling overstretched mentally due to a lot of changes recently.

Advice to Management

Employees leave bosses, not companies. Your greatest asset are your people so make the time to listen to your staff, get feedback from the teams and do regular pulse checks.

Great sabbatical program to loyal employees who can stick around for 5 years.
