We’re excited to highlight the Akamai SkillBridge program. SkillBridge is a Department of Defense-run program that helps service members gain civilian work experience in their last 180 days of service. Today, we’re featuring Melissa Holtzlander, a former U.S. Air Force member who joined Akamai through SkillBridge. After completing her apprenticeship, she became a full-time Technical Project Management Associate. Hear her story: “After serving in the Air Force for more than 20 years, I was nervous about 'life after.' Having the valuable opportunity to intern at Akamai for 4 months gave me the comfort and confidence I needed to start a whole new career. It's an extremely inclusive environment and veteran-friendly. Danny Lewin Community Care Days (DLCCD) are in full swing! 🌍 Throughout September and October, our teams are coming together to give back to their communities and create meaningful change. We’re excited to share that we've once again provided a grant to Science Club for Girls to support the expansion of their programming and enrollment for the 2024-25 academic year. 👩🎓 With this support, 775 girls and gender-expansive youth from underrepresented communities in the Greater Boston area will receive free, high-quality STEM education and mentorship each semester. 🧬 The Akamai Foundation remains committed to fostering the next generation of technology innovators by supporting STEM education, with a special focus on excellence in mathematics for K-12 students. Together, we Unite, Engage, and Empower for Social Good.

Working with young people is always so inspiring! ✨ This time the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Group from Uniwersytet Dzieci (Children’s University) was invited to prepare a competency workshop in our Krakow office for teenage students. The hashtag#AkamaiPoland Team helped them to make conscious decisions about their educational future, including the choice of their high school major. 🎓 It was amazing to watch them engage in activities and discover their passions! 📚💡
