Pros
The pay is relatively high.
Cons
Completely outdated ways of thinking. Ridiculous office hours and often compelled to work through lunch and out of hours. Senior management can work whatever hours they want, often not even showing up for work. Nothing is ever planned properly, senior management constantly belittle lower management, this then gets pushed down to employees in the form of poorly thought out instructions. Ridiculous deadlines are set on work. Head office is a joke, completely outdated. No break or rest facilities. Forget about following covid safety protocols - even senior management constantly undermine these important safety precautions and actively encourage staff to work in unsafe conditions. This has been the case throughout Covid. Remote work opportunities are basically non-existent because managers believe people are only capable of doing their job if they are sat at a desk and monitored 24/7. This will hurt the company in the long run. No one wants to be in a sweaty disgusting office environment 5 days a week. The internal systems are absolutely atrocious. Nothing works properly, and if you do contact IT you're often met with a "sorry, can't do anything" response. I feel sorry for the guys working in the IT dept because, again, the majority of these issues clearly stem from poor management. The company clearly needs a restructure but I have a feeling that this will never happen. All of the upper management and directors act as if nothing is wrong and constantly pat each other on the backs, completely oblivious to the bleak financial situation of the company. People are leaving in droves and I think I will be joining them if things don't improve.
