Pros

+ Central London working location + Promising concept and product - if managed well

Cons

- Ignorant and biased management - Wages are well below market rates and increments are peanuts - Absurd staff turnover rate (several people, almost 10% of all workforce per year) - No growth prospects - unless you're friendly with the top brass - Hanging on to incompetent staff for no reason - No real people management experience for most managers - Internal office politics (detrimental to morale) - No appreciation for hard workers - Office in shabby condition, especially toilets - Poor culture and ethics - No flexible working hours

Thanks for your feedback. At essDOCS we are committed to creating a fair and collaborative working environment, and we are disappointed that your experience does not reflect this. While we think that the personal nature of some of the feedback is unwarranted, we take the content and sentiment very seriously and appreciate you taking the time to provide it. Staff turnover is an issue, and we understand how disruptive this can be in small teams. While we strive to retain staff, we also recognise that people will look to make career changes and are very supportive of it. Having said that, the average employee tenure at essDOCS is over 4 years, which for a young company is positive. We regularly monitor team structures, to ensure that we are aligned to customer needs and the strain that these place on our staff: this has been the backdrop to the restructuring that is being implanted currently, on which we have received positive feedback from staff. People management and effective communication is one of the most challenging aspects of creating a business which people want to work for and we acknowledge that everyone could improve these skills. Training courses are planned for a number of staff later this year. The first phase of the office restructuring was completed last summer, with a complete overhaul of the kitchen and bathrooms. The second phase is being implemented this summer. With respect to flexible working hours, this can be accommodated following discussions with managers, depending of course on the role. Finally, we are happy you share our core belief in the strength of our product offering, and very much hope you will stay with us to see it through.
