    It's all about the TEAM

Oct 31, 2022 - Solutions Architect in Montreal, QC
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

There's no EGO at ZIRO. Everyone work and go in the same direction. Nobody is more important than an other. You'll never be left alone with an issue, the team is right behind you to help. The management is transparent and always try to improve on feedback we are providing. As a solution architect, we always have to face new technologies and the business put all into place so we can continue to be successful even when we are out of our confort zone.

    Cons

    - Since we are moving fast on new technologies, processes may take time to fully settle and get the benefit of it. - Benefits could improve.

Avoid At All Costs If You Are in Sales

    Mar 21, 2023 - Enterprise Account Manager
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The technology is sound and you have the ability to work fully remote.

    Cons

Avoid this place at all costs if you are in a sales capacity. The sales team is ran by the CEO who also happens to own the company. There is zero trust on the sales team and due to this, you are micromanaged in every capacity. Turnover and nepotism run rampant due to unobtainable quotas and unrealistic expectations set forth by management. You are brought on with zero training and expected to sell a portfolio of products that the company themselves have had very little success selling over the last 13 years—with the exception of their proprietary software tool. The company systemically utilizes sales people for six months to build up their sales funnel then fires them near the end of a quarter so they don’t have to pay out any commissions once those deals come to fruition. Compensation wise, they entice you with what looks like an attractive OTE number that couldn’t be further from reality and when you do manage to sell something, they do everything in their power to pay you as little as possible for the work that you have done. This company preaches honesty and transparency as a part of their core values but I have yet to experience either during my tenure.

Leading edge of technology and market transformation

    Oct 29, 2022 - Sales Engineering
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

I came to ZIRO because they are ahead of the market curves and able to adapt with changing technology directions. I have not seen another company willing to push towards new solutions and technology this quickly, providing resources, training and leadership support in all aspects. This is a fun and rewarding place to be. My department has weekly training exercise and meetings to help each other be better. We are a very close team and everyone is always ready to help and do whatever it takes. I get to learn market leading technologies, partner with the best in the industry and work with my client to really understand them, become a trusted advisor and make recommendations not based on a specific manufacture, but rather what is the best fit for the client and best meets their business requirements.

    Cons

I started during COVID and remote work was not always easy but I still felt part of the team and was supported every step of the way. We can now go into the office which is great. Having the flexibility to work from the office or remote is awesome.

Not Good for Long-term sales reps, because you probably won't be there

    Mar 13, 2023 - Business Development

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Good people to work with, kinda feel sorry for them now. Laid off lots of people because they thought they had a strategy.

    Cons

2 year employee growth rate. From 61 employees to 59 employees. 29 new hires. Do the math on that turnover and sales growth. Want to be selling a hot product, probably not here. Don't recommend this for a sales rep. Their job is asking for 12 enterprise leads a month, is that achievable? CEO was the sales manager, even if they hired a new sales manager. No idea what product market fit is. Blame reps for their own problems

    HR & Recruitment Manager

Thanks for sharing your insight into your personal experience with ZIRO, and we appreciate the kind words about the team, we do have good people to work with here. Respectfully, the math on employee turnover is a bit off. There are many reasons employees leave companies, that said we have a headcount of 52 today that are happy to be a part of this team. Our new VP of Sales is working closely with the CEO to deliver on the new strategic sales outcomes. Again, thanks for taking the time to write a review. If you have actionable feedback, you would be willing to provide, kindly email hr@goziro.com. All the best!

    Great Company & Great Leaders!

Oct 24, 2022 - Human Resources Recruiter in Toronto, ON

    Pros

The incredibly open company culture - our CEO, Steven Karachinsky, continuously shares company wins, learning moments, and feedback to live up to our values of being real, honest, and always looking to learn & grow. ZIRO's onboarding process is the most thorough onboarding process I have ever experienced. From LinkedIn learning courses to meetings with our COO, CEO, and CTO, along with other extremely talented employees, to learn how to perform in the role successfully, and having support systems throughout the process has been amazing. Work gets done!! Meetings are intentional, and productive - we set goals, and find solutions to move forward, and grow individually, and as a company. Last, but certainly not least, remote work & unlimited vacation :)

    Cons

As we are a growing company, there are more limited career advancement opportunities. But, we are actively working to establish career development pathways for new, or current employees to be able to grow within ZIRO!

    Pros

Remote work allows for flexibility Manager trusts me to get my work done and is there when I need help Social events are really fun Coworkers are supportive, friendly and awesome to work with Owners are really involved in the business, whenever there are questions they are there to help and coach employees. They really live by the company values, and are transparent about what goes on. Company is growing in just about every department

    Cons

While there is certainly room to grow, wish there were more formal career trajectories across the org.

    Great Leadership & Team

    Oct 25, 2022 - Financial Controller
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

The culture here is one that wholeheartedly embraces authenticity and vulnerability. There is a lot of trust and autonomy from leadership, which truly gives us the space and opportunity to learn and grow from both our successes and our failures/mistakes. The company is also fully remote and boasts an unlimited vacation policy ;). Coworkers are great - always respectful and open to collaborate.

    Cons

There are some kinks in several processes and systems that will need to improved and/or formalized in the short-term, although this need is driven mainly from the company's current growth trajectory (always a great sign).

    Rewarding, honest, principaled, ethical, loyal

    Pros

A fulfilling experience where individuals have the opportunity to make an impact, either directly or with their team. The decision makers are truly respectable people who cut through BS, empower people to do their jobs and make tough calls/change directions when needed. We're expected to play our part and make mistakes, growing personally and professionally.

    Cons

Unfortunately, remote work means less informal contact with people which makes it difficult to meet everyone without forcing things a little.

    Pros

    - CEO puts time into training you to align with his vision - Good people you work with within the orginization

    Cons

    - Compensation is not there - It's not what they tell you - Insane turn-over - just do a little research - New UCX solution that doesn't sell, you'd be shocked at the actual number of UCX clients they have. - Terrible benefits package

    COO

We are open and honest with all of our teammates. Our job offers include details as to our compensation plans, our benefits packages and salaries, what specifically wasn't true about yours? If you'd like to discuss this is greater detail, please reach to to me it's David btw. Btw, the term UCX solution is not a product or term we have at ZIRO, which adds to my confusion.
