Pros

My experience at World Manager has surpassed anything I could have hoped for as a first job out of University. From the minute I started at this company, I was invested in through extensive training programs that were hosted outside of Canada as well as the opportunity to meet and train with employees from the other offices around the world. Although I am working out of Vancouver, which is smaller relative to the other offices, I was able to quickly grasp that I was part of a much larger picture and was motivated to be a part of the exciting growth stage. I think most employees at World Manager can agree that if you work hard, your efforts are rewarded quickly. Those who go above and beyond to ignite change and take care of the company are employees the Executive team does not want to lose. I have been promoted twice since I started in June. The opportunities I am being included in for 2020 are incredible. Another engine from my office was promoted in August to another department that better fit his talents and has allowed him to excel. This is an amazing example of a company that values their employees so much so that they will work hard to find the right fit for them as opposed to losing them or letting talents go to waste. The executive team goes above and beyond getting to know all of the entry-level staff. It is very rare to come across a Founder/CEO of a company of this size who will fly into every office to personally get to know his staff and thank them for their efforts. This makes for a collaborative, transparent, and open-door policy culture. It is very easy to voice your thoughts/concerns to management and know that they will reflect on them and come back with something that leaves both parties happy. It is a very exciting time to be a part of this company, looking forward to seeing what 2020 brings!

Cons

Very difficult to come up with any cons based off of my experience. What I will say is given the fast-growth stage the company is in, every one has their hands full. For those that work well autonomously, this provides a space for them to accelerate and shine. Alternatively, some hires require ongoing training for things like how to manage their sales pipeline or how to use Sales Force effectively. If management was more proactive here, it could help engines reach their goals while improving the success of the Canadian market.

Pros

Excellent amenities. Its often taken for granted until you are without the little things. The Canadian office is the smallest of this international company’s locations, but it is still heavily supplied with; food, snacks, comfortable arrangements in a local downtown spot. Easy to commute to, excellent hours and a really friendly atmosphere. When I first started these things really separated World Manager from dozens of seemingly synonymous companies, but the real benefit of the company is the level of opportunity. As mentioned the company is not huge, but has an open door mentality from top-down. The owner started it from scratch and optimistically looks for similar drive in his staff. After less than a year with the company I was given tools to improve when I wasn't succeeding, and then was directly rewarded with opportunity when my efforts were shown to be consistent. I have always wanted my "work" to be a balanced investment, and my idea of a good balance is "going into business with a company" rather than working for someone. And that is exactly what happened, World Manager invested in me, and I am driven to continue to invest back into it. I know companies often push staff to write reviews like this. But this was truly written in reflection of the excellent opportunity I just received. I feel valued and optimistic for my future

Cons

Little to none. You have to work hard, you have to ask before you receive. Opportunity won't necessarily be given out, it is there for those who can stand out and push for change
