Pros

- Hiring has accelerated in the last 6 months which has reduced bottlenecks

Cons

- Global payroll team of 1 (for all 480+ employees) means things are missed, and we can't trust our paychecks include everything that they should. - Comp is (far) lower compared to other companies at the same stage, even though they say that we're at the 75th percentile. - International employees (non US and Canada) are international contractors, and get no benefits of being an employee. No news on when there will be new entities set up. Can you actually call yourself remote first if all employees aren't treated equally regardless of their location? - Operationally: expectation and timeline setting around new products has historically been terrible. - Promotion tracks very unclear

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave feedback! I agree with you that we have several opportunities ahead. Many of these align directly with our H2 Objectives; however, I believe it may also help to clarify a few of the points you’ve called out in your review. As you’ve mentioned, over the last year, Webflow has grown significantly. Not only in headcount but by extending our global footprint to welcome team members in new countries worldwide. However, where bottlenecks are removed due to extra hands in some areas, complexity is increased, and new bottlenecks are created in others. I’m happy to share that, as we continue to enhance the fantastic culture, growth and development, and rewards programs that enable our team members, we’ll also focus on additional investments that operationalize our systems, programs, and processes for scale as Webflow continues to grow. I can confirm that we regularly benchmark compensation to ensure that our current practices align both with our philosophy at Webflow and remain competitively aligned to the market. There’s no question that, in some areas, we’ve observed the market outpace benchmarking data. This development is not unique to Webflow; however, we are actively working to assess newly available data, iterate where appropriate, and ensure that our compensation practices remain competitive and equitable globally. To this note, it’s essential to recognize that compensation, benefits, and even time away programs vary by country, both statutory and customary. We’ll continue to design our practices to enable our Webflowers globally, but in a manner that best addresses each country and the legal compliance therein. New to Webflow, I’ve already been able to meet many team members to hear feedback and gain perspective. I’m excited to continue those conversations and would love to discuss your feedback directly and any other that may be top of mind. Please feel free to reach out directly or email me at mike@webflow.com.

Pros

Inclusiveness. Remote working. OK compensation. Good communication.

Cons

After more than four years of serving this company, delivering countless critical projects and contributing across platforms, there has been no career advancement. Each time I see announcements about “aggressive hiring,” I feel degraded and unfairly treated. New hires with less experience and no proven track record can walk in at a higher level than mine. How can that possibly be the right way to build a company?

Thanks for taking the time to share this, and for all you’ve contributed over the past four years. Career growth and recognition matter deeply to us, and I can appreciate how discouraging it can feel to see new roles open while you are pursuing the next step in your own development. Our recent hiring is intentional and tied to careful planning, prioritization, and resourcing. These additions are designed to ensure the right capacity and sustainable workloads, not to ask more of our existing team members. They reflect our commitment to scaling thoughtfully while maintaining a high-performance culture that supports both our people and our customers. Over the past four years, we have built and refined clear career pathways and leveling frameworks that define what advancement looks like at each stage. In our most recent engagement survey, 84% of employees said they receive actionable feedback that helps them improve, and 81% said they understand what is expected of them in their role. Both are up year over year and above industry benchmarks, showing meaningful progress in clarity and development. We celebrate approximately 20% of our team members who earn a promotion each year, and top performers continue to receive differentiated cash and equity rewards that reflect their impact. Advancement at Webflow depends on demonstrated readiness for broader scope and impact, and we aim to make that path transparent and achievable for everyone. I appreciate you sharing your perspective. If you are open to a direct conversation, please reach out to me on Slack or at mike@webflow.com. Feedback like this helps us continue to grow thoughtfully and build a company where great people can do the best work of their careers. — Mike, SVP People
