Pros

Generally good benefits, does a good job at hiring on generally caring and good to work with employees, and is managing to fight off most toxic startup behavior

Cons

Non-C-suite employees have little say over organizational decisions, a couple higher-ups display aggressive/toxic behavior that goes relatively unchecked, HR never seemed to really have much power to help employees materially and ended up leaving for reasons unknown to me, seems like most decisions are based on money and the opinions of the investors/board of directors while employee (without whom no product and features would exist) welfare takes a back seat. Example, monthly mental health days were [taken away without worker input for the remainder of 2023, to be "reevaluated" in 2024] The bracketed section before this has actually been redacted shortly after writing due to immediate dissent from co-workers, but it is important to keep it in. Rather than taking the days away entirely, they could have said they were offset to next year and basically made a cool "Videon-only holiday" to celebrate the work put into the reason they took them away, which they stated as end-of-year crunch time. Rather than making a decision and dropping a bomb, management could have voiced the intention to get time back to teams for work to be done through the end of the year and then gathered input from employees to find a solution that everyone would be happy with. There was likely a positive route to get everyone bought in to pushing for crunch time, but instead the sudden removal of mental health days will likely cause a tank in morale. I would change my rating to 4 stars if management makes efforts to get non-management input and buy in on organizational decision, 5 stars if they figure out a way to get non-management employee representation (that is accountable to non-management employees) on the board of directors.
