Great company and awesome staff
Feb. 16, 2023 - Senior Product Designer in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company fosters transparency. You will truly be seen as an adult who has a role to play in the company's success. Salaries are public and known to all. Every week there is a Town Hall to talk about the objectives and the results of all the departments. Every 3 months, you will have goals to accomplish. The solutions to achieve your goals belong to you, and you will be able to move forward autonomously. The HR team is great and always available.
Cons
Like any startup, objectives are ambitious and can be stressful sometimes. You will have to make some important choices, which might be frustrating but needed.

Great place to work and grow professionally
Feb. 8, 2023 - Senior Content StrategistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I love working here for too many reasons to list. As a former workplace cynic who kept waiting through my first year for the other shoe to drop or the skeletons in the closet to appear, it still hasn’t happened and I’m happier in this role than any other I’ve had in my career. Lots of places talk about values and caring about staff, but those promises often fall short. But not at Unito. You can give feedback and know that it will be appreciated, expected, and valued. You’re constantly surrounded by brilliant, passionate, solutions-oriented problem solvers who will help you be your best (whether you want them to or not!) simply by virtue of their presence. The culture is contagious, the people are fantastic, hours are flexible and forgiving for parents. When my family all had covid, Unito sent me a $300 coupon for groceries. The kindness and generosity was unbelievable. They promote from within and encourage you to pursue a growth plan. Not every place is like that. Believe me! The recruitment process may seem daunting but it’s absolutely worth it. It deters the least motivated so the ones who make it through are the most driven. Be among them!
Cons
Whatever your role is, you need to be able to manage projects on your own. No one is going to do it for you all the time (unless you ask reeeeeeally nicely!). Someone once told me, everyone leaves Unito a project manager, whether they want to be one or not. It’s an incredibly valuable skill set to learn, but you’ve got to put time into it if it’s not your strength. The curse of freedom: you’re encouraged to take on projects you believe in and do what you think is best. But that means you sometimes have to deliver by yourself or ask for help. Sometimes that means negotiating with teammates and building consensus before getting to do the thing you want to do. But that’s how great societies are formed! Aka - practice your diplomacy and make friends. Startup life means sometimes you can’t do everything you want and you have to do it with fewer resources than you’d like. We have to stay agile and prioritize carefully. Adversity breeds success! I don’t know if this is a con per se, at least it isn’t one for me, but you have to embrace the culture and a team-first mentality. This is probably true of all places but I’d say especially at Unito. If you want to succeed you need to be a part of it. The amazingly talented Unito ES team will no doubt develop an overinflated ego after this review, which could also be considered a con.

I feel in great company!
Nov. 29, 2022 - Head of Product Design in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I feel in great company because it is an amazing group of people (from senior management to individual contributors) and it is an amazing culture (policies, habits, and overall ambience). Work-from-home Flexibility and Salary Transparency are just two very concrete traits that speak about the company Unito wants to be, and every day you can see it making the effort to become better and more human.
Cons
I am sorry but I don't have anything negative to point at.

Organized startup with supportive management
Sep. 12, 2022 - Marketing ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Quite organized and strategic for a startup (leadership is experienced) and you have lots of agency to make decisions. They are transparent about salaries, you feel supported, and you are kept up to date with what's happening.
Cons
The company feels mature, but is still in build mode. There is lots of discovery, iterating, and experimentation still happening, which isn’t necessarily a con, but something you will need to be comfortable with.

The best work of your career
Aug. 19, 2022 - Product Marketer in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Fantastic team, leadership, mentorship and growth - Truly awesome work culture, with a lot of accountability, responsibility, but still supported throughout - Ability to grow in your role and laterally in the company if desired - Very process oriented, so you're never left feeling clueless on how to go about the next step of a project
Cons
- Lateral moves and promotions can take time to fully materialize - Still working hard to find truly explosive growth, which can occasionally mean switching strategic priorities quickly depending on initial results

Best work experience so far!
Jun. 17, 2022 - Accountant in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
At this company for 8 months so far, my observations: -Transparency and equality. There is no place for politics, good work is noticed and rewarded. -Huge focus on employees well-being and individual growth path. Fun work environment. -Processes are super structured and efficient. -Smart and passionate colleagues. -Good communication. Frequent updates of the big picture: what are the big steps, priorities, what is happening in other departments, etc. -Each employee has their own areas of responsabilities. It comes with freedom to organize your own work but it also comes with accountability, which is good in my point of view.
Cons
I don't see any cons so far.

People first, motivating leadership, great team
Nov. 2, 2021 - Partner Program Manager in Montreal, QCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've had the best experience in my 9+ months so far. It's so cool to work with people where everyone truly is an expert at what they do, and genuinely want you to do well also. I've found that everyone is incredibly supportive of each other, and managers really know how to motivate and push you in the best way, while also trusting you to be the expert in your role. Also very motivating to have female leadership to look up to. The women in executive roles at Unito (half!) are absolute leaders in their fields, while being supportive and inspiring to everyone on their teams. The company is growing very quickly, so they invest a lot of effort into making sure there is a solid employee focused foundation to scale. Also worth mentioning is their pay scale: salaries are transparent among employees, which is revolutionary for women who often earn less than men without even knowing it. NB. If you have the chance to work at Unito, it's not an opportunity to be missed.
Cons
Onboarding (remote) was a challenge. There is a lot to learn and things move very quickly. Still a startup so every role is crucial and can mean a lot of priorities to shuffle. Fast paced meaning a lot of work and different everyday (good!), but can be overwhelming at times.
