Pros

Nothing really...the new management who were brought in after Unitek was purchased are the problem...I am required to add 5 words for Pros, but what can I say there are no pros.... I can write pages after pages about how bad things were....stress, anxiety, lies from bosses, yet no one to complain to... if you did complain you would simply would get fired.

Cons

Do not kid yourself and get sucked into their promises. I just read the previous comments about someone rating them 5!!! That person either was forced to write that or must have been smoking something as everyone who worked at Unitek knows how terrible the company is....the only way Unitek could get better is if the board fires all the current management(*starting with the CEO) and starts fresh...

Pros

Immediate coworkers were amazing, wonderful people. The students were great. There was always free food and coffee.

Cons

Was hired to do what became the job of at least three people. Constantly being told “we’re family here!” but when push came to shove it was always corporate vs campus. HIGH instructor turnover, and constant complaints from students that the instructors didn’t know what they were teaching, disrespected the students and forged time cards for certain students, as well as never even turned in their time cards. Within my own department it was almost always chaos of being told to do one thing, and then two days later being told to do it differently. Barely any training on things that don’t have to do with being audited. Multi-tasking is one thing, but being pulled in all directions is another. Campuses were pitted against each other for numbers, and they were discussed in great length and people were called out all the time in front of others for low performance. Gaslighting from corporate to campus was almost daily. I was overworked consistently for the first five months while there, and when they finally hired someone else to join the department, I was suddenly at fault for everything, but then told that I was “a great asset to the team”. I was told literally one day before they fired me that I was doing well and would go far in the company. And my last check was dated TWO days PRIOR to my being fired. Lots of blame on the “little guy” when it was just absolute miscommunication amongst the corporate teams and campuses, or corporate refusing to listen to the campus requests and concerns. Lots of attempts to save students from dropping, but then blaming the campus administrators when the student does drop. Huge focus on numbers and new bodies in seats rather than balancing that quality time and focus on current students as well. Never enough space for anyone in the buildings.

Pros

The only real pro was meeting and working with many of the wonderful Nursing instructors and some of the other great individual employees that work at Unitek.

Cons

It just a God-awful place to work. Very poor and arrogant management. They absolutely do not care about or respect their employees. Not many benefits to speak of that's for sure. Well, management is always for working you to death after hours or on weekends while they spend quality time at home with their own families, it's great for them...It's a Win Win. Very low pay but then again what else would one expect from Unitek. And yes of course, many of the wonderful employees that I mentioned in the above Pros section do leave the company. I always did wonder if management would ever truly realize the value of the great talent that comes and goes through the doors of Unitek College and how much of a cost it is to the company to lose them. Well, the real truth is, they don't care. Unitek College is a churn and burn operation, the more management churns and burns the better management looks to the Board and that after all is what management really does care about.
