Well-paying remote work but poor leadership dynamics

Pros

- pays well - remote work - interesting client base

Cons

- incompetent leadership - inexperienced leadership - Full of cliques between departments (lots of hearsay) - non-inclusive teams full of "previous" coworkers who will leave you out of conversations - onboarding consists of unorganized zoom meetings. zero actual training. - Job duties not specified, will ask you not to just go the extra mile, but to risk your home life and mental health (60+ hour weeks is considered normal)

Pros

Transcend is solving a real problem that is both a business (compliance) problem and a human (privacy) problem. The people here are really committed to solving the problem in the way that is best for the end-user. This means they tend to be ahead of the law, giving them a competitive edge over companies that are only focused on compliance. Also, just as importantly, the people who work at Transcend are intelligent and humble. I have never liked my co-workers so much as working at Transcend.

Cons

It is still a fairly early stage start-up. This means that there is a fair amount of risk (will the stock options actually be worth anything?) and can be stressful at times.
