      Cons

Recruitment team is honey trapping new hires. There is a huge disconnect between the recruitment team and the Engineering Team. If you are seeing good reviews on LinkedIn or Glassdoor they are extracted from the new hires by the recruiters. I was chased by my recruiter to give good review a.k.a testimonials so they can honey trap more people as I have 13+ years of experience. What the Management care is for OKRs (quarterly goals) not employee's personal growth. Only thing I hear is OKRs, OKRs & OKRs. They function like service company not a product organisation. There are people that are in the organisation from long long time and they are very rigid and not open to any new ideas/working style. Every technical thing needs to be done as those "long term" employees feel and you'll be frustrated. The managers will just fit you where there is a need of people and will not care about your past experience and your career aspirations, they want their quarterly OKRs to be met by hook or by crook. Broken agile followed which is worse than waterfall.

      Pros

Work/Life balance and put employee's health in the first place. Make sure your voice be heard by the survey and all manager teams do care about the voice and would take actions to improve it.

      Cons

need more clear career paths for senior employees.

If you like to advance by merit (meritocracy), this is where it won't happen

      Pros

Good Salaries, Working conditions, Side benefits, etc

      Cons

TomTom is a place that deceives people upfront without job applicants being aware of. They have an history of heavily hiring when their economic/financial situation is good, but then also very quickly fire several people in batches - when doing some news research, you can find out there was a firing wave (this can be easily found in news from 2017 (sportwatch bankrupcy) and 2020 (covid19). The 2nd and perhaps biggest problem of this companys is that you don't advance in the company by merit, hard work or effort. You advance mostly by the people you know and the relationships you create around the company. While this is of course important in any workplace, in this company it's almost a survival skill, so in conclusion, it all comes down to "social capital" and good you are at lobbying :) sad but true. When researching Linkedin, it's also possible to prove this by noticing the ammount of skilled people who left the company to now work renown and sucesful companies. Another setback of working for this deceiving company is that they will make you believe everything is possible in terms of growth and being open to new ideas, but in reality, you can't apply 70% of what you have in mind (if you're good at spotting opportunities) - so it's also a waste of time when it comes to understand your ideas could come to live and see real practical results. This usually happens due to the insecurity of the leadership in accepting new ideas and ways of thinking/different mindsets than what is agreed. Anything that sounds "hard" will simply not be put in practise basically. All in all, my experience made me realise this is deceiving workplace which sounds "too good to be true" in the beggining, with seductive job conditions (etc) , but eventually ends up proving why that 1st strange feeling was true, because in the longer run, it is a toxic environment that praises the social connection factor over skillset or ambition.

      Awesome collaborative culture

      Pros

      - Awesome culture of sharing every inch of knowledge you might have with everyone in the company. - Well paid and good benefits (such as 600€ budget to working from home items, daily budget for lunch and monthly budget for internet bills) - Better work/life Balance than in a consultancy company.

      Cons

Been to TomTom just for 3 months, so far nothing I could point out it is a bad thing.

      Pros

It's possible to learn a lot in a particular area. The people are fun, the office is nice. They are flexible in understanding we are all human and sometimes need some space. The pay is good. Lot's of areas to look into and offer advice.

      Cons

There's a celling to how far you can progress. It's not based on merit. There are a number of people promoted beyond their means and are not capable of providing inspiration or support to further career development. Not thru their own fault, there just isn't enough training/support to ensure they are able to keep employees engaged. Still a waterfall style management structure in place, highest payed persons opinion is prevalent and overweighs that of a data driven approach.
