Pros

The mission. A handful of co-workers.

Cons

Unstable upper management in last few years. Cliques in the administrative building, particularly a group of three directors that have been nicknamed "The Mean Girls." Feeling of detachment from some directors (The Mean Girls) and the mission and hourly employees. Bad benefits package, including very high deductible health insurance and no company contribution to 401K.

Pros

I really enjoyed the work I did for the company. We were never micromanaged. We were able to come up with or own ideas and solutions with our manager on how to run our specific site, and our manager listened to us a LOT. She never swept our concerns under the rug or tried to blow off our ideas, she always listened to our input on how to best take care of the clients.

Cons

There was always a problem with basically how cheap the company is. I worked at Tangram for 7 years, after my first year the company decided it was losing money on payroll, so they put a payment and raise freeze on, you guessed it the regular employees. Not only that, but they cut back some of our pay depending on the shifts we worked. The very next 6 months we lost some good staff, so 6 months later they decided to change their employee health plan, the premiums that came out of our checks was nothing short of ridiculous based on a salary of $10.50 an hour, but the deductibles were raised to between $5000 and $15000. It was impossible for us to go to have appropriate healthcare, especially for people who were constantly around individuals with health issues and low immune systems. All of that combined forced us to lose over half of our long term staff to either retire early, drop to part time work or quit completely.

Pros

You'll have a small salary increment after your first three months and that's not bad at all if you know what I mean.

Cons

The work might be tough sometimes if you are not so used to caring for elderly people. You smight need to know how to cook also.
