Not a great place to work in Sales or if you're experienced

Pros

Benefits are decent and roles are remote.

Cons

Only a decent place to work if you're at the beginning of your career looking to gain experience and are on the engineering team - persistent turnover especially in Sales/Marketing/Business Development roles. Very young, inexperienced team overall which is likely due to low pay but high, unrealistic expectations.

Pros

- Really great coworker from diverse personal and professional backgrounds - Most of the clients are reasonable - Fully remote, laid back culture - Yearly WFH stipend - Dedicated heads down/no meetings time - Professional Development days - Opportunities for folks who made a career change or are coming back to the industry after a hiatus - Management is actively working to create better processes for client communication, setting client expectations, etc. - Diverse set of clients allows for a wide range of experience

Cons

- Consulting comes with a unique set of challenges and is not for everyone - Total lack of salary transparency - Seemingly high turnover - No role descriptions - Lack of clear career paths - Leadership seems to view the team as "Developers/Engineering ...and other" - Pay rate is under-market - Little to no QA - Benefits are not competitive - Unclear company roadmap for the next 1, 3, 5+ years

Pros

* Leadership has made a lot of points to get and act on feedback from the internal teams. * Lots of time is given to dealing w tech debt and improving future development efforts * Most consulting clients are fairly reasonable * Lots of work to hire and train folks who have otherwise might have trouble getting into software industry.

Cons

* Consulting is a hard business where you work with a lot of different people in rapid succession sometimes, and that can be tough in any context, and this is one of those where in unlucky circumstances you are working on something you don't love with not a lot of options internally. * Turnover has *seemed* fairly high while I've been here. It's hard to stay engaged when people you like are gone. Turnover may in fact be within normal industry numbers, but it's not easy. * Some of the consulting projects are very old and sometimes gnarly, which is likely a negative for new developers, and sometimes a positive for experienced ones. * Salary is not transparent
