Pros

None. The work environment was toxic and uncomfortable

Cons

I was the not the first person who didn’t make it past the probationary period. I was told I had to dress nicely while all the men in the office were allowed to wear old and worn hoodies and sweaters, and I was eventually fired because my boss didn’t like that I ‘sniffled’ even though I provided proof that I was not sick. He sent me home almost for a full week despite the fact that I was not sick. The owner does not care about your performance and competence as a designer, he only cared about your appearance and was easily annoyed by ridiculous things. In short, he was an a-hole.

Pros

Just another job to tag on your resume. You will get some experience in the sign industry. Clean environment.

Cons

No proper training, not given time. Boss knew exactly what I was capable of and what I wasn't and yet expected me to know what I already said I didn't have much experience in. Boss was totally scatter brained couldn't focus on one task at hand. Company lies about you, says your good at the beginning and then will just say your not and fire you before your probation ends. This company couldnt even load a substrate properly into a printer, I had to show them that. New business owners that are not confident in themselves and don't want to be shown up and that is evident. If you even slightly blame something on equipment you'll be told your making excuses and in this industry lots of things happen as a result of an equipment malfunction. Low pay of course, like all sign shop positions, but really that was the least of my worries.
