Pros

Compensation is competitive, but there is no bonus opportunity for non-management employees.

Cons

Very unhealthy work environment. Mixed messaging about responsibilities, poor communication from managers and CEO, training is scarce, if any. During my first week or two of employment I was "yelled" at in an email by the CEO (in all caps) with about 10 other leaders cc'd on the email, which I thought was very unprofessional. This was to happen frequently, I found out. Additionally, when I left the company, no on contacted be about my belongings and they threw everything out (including personal photos and an expensive desk clock). They later claimed that they had tried to email and call but they had not. This is just an example of the petty and childish behavior one can expect at this company. Save yourself the trouble and go work for a more reputable and professional company.

Pros

This is a small company and you definitely can see that there is a close-knit atmosphere which is both pro and con. Some very nice individuals and quite a bit of fun activities are had in the office.

Cons

I can't help but believe that the last few five star ratings were put on here in an attempt to bury some of the true reviews of this company. Low pay, few paid holidays, and enough unfair treatment to individuals who do not deserve it make Serve You a place that is almost unbearable to show up for your full day of work. Not to mention their hourly associates must punch in on a time clock. I'm sorry, but as a business professional this will make you feel like you are a drone working to just make it to the end of the day without being trusted by management to complete your work. I know there were many individuals in which I closely worked with who were too afraid to speak up in fear of losing their position or being in the dog house of their manager.

Serve You Rx Response

We encourage our employees to be open, honest, and provide direct feedback so that we can address concerns promptly. Serve You is confident we are in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. It is not our policy to engage on employee issues in an open forum, but rather we give employees ample opportunity to come forward and talk to us candidly and directly. Our PTO and benefits offering is market competitive, and we pride ourselves on providing a challenging and fun place to work, but realize we cannot make everyone happy.

Pros

The only pro to working at Serve You is to use it as a paying bridge while looking for another job. That's what most of us are doing here--more than 70 employees have left since January of 2010, an abysmal turnover rate for a company of just over 50 employees. Three directors (out of four) have quit in the last four weeks and the resignations keep coming in.

Cons

The CEO/President, is a sham. Although she professes to be self-schooled in leadership principles and a "student" of a well known management blogger and trainer, she is neither schooled nor principled. Dishonesty and deceit are valued by her. Corner office kudos go only to those who misrepresent the hard work of their peers in order to gain her favor--temporarily, anyway, as she will inevitably turn on her confidantes too. Nepotism runs amok here--if you are a relative of the CEO/President and unemployable by normal standards, you will find a permanent home at Serve You. One more thing. Forget about ever getting a raise. You will be stuck with your starting pay forever here.
