Pros

Still some amazing people at the company although very few.

Cons

CEO is a bully who has an attitude of entitlement and has no respect for anyone - does not value any of the employees. CFO is a "yes" man. Leadership is definitely lacking. Employees are threatened regularly. Con's are numerous: Leadership out for what they can get out of the company - ridiculous salaries, expensive dinners, as many personal expenses paid as possible out of company funds. Benefits not funded on time and safety issues abound!

Pros

They hire immediately so it works if you need a job quick.

Cons

Deadlines were often missed due to the sales teams not understanding production times and/or production managers using inefficient methods. This would lead to threats as well as increasingly onerous and punitive policies for the production staff. Managers would actively shut down feedback from production staff (i.e. the employees doing the hands-on work) on suggestions for better work strategies and more manageable policies. I worked there for a year and in that time there was also an OSHA violation (working without running water) and a National Labor Relations Act violation (employees told they were not allowed to discuss wages) as well as just general sub-standard working conditions. I don't think either of these were done knowingly, but were products of management not respecting lower level employees which led to policies that inadvertently crossed below legally allowed thresholds.

Pros

The low-level workers are some of the hardest working people I've dealt with

Cons

As mentioned in the headline--the front-runners of the company (namely the CEO) are the quintessential immoral, greedy corporate thugs who exploit and deceive the hard-working people who make the company function. On top of consistently making empty promises of growth opportunities, they substantially under-compensate their employees who at times are treated like sweat shop workers. There have even been instances of people in Management type positions making less than an entry-level worker. They also will downsize an overwhelming percentage of their employees and then have the audacity to call a meeting, assuring that everything is OK with the state of the company, which they have quite apparently have been running into the ground for the last 2 years. This is a tip of the iceberg example of the patronizing and duplicitous nature that they display on a regular basis.

Scan-Optics Response

In response to the opinion shared in this review, our company has seen growth at record levels. As our success continues to build, there are instances in which we have to make decisions to better align our employees in roles that better fit their competencies and experience. We pride ourselves in treating our team with dignity and respect and provide every opportunity for advancement and growth; however, even in doing so, you cannot make everyone happy. It should also be stated that we have an open door policy and had these issues been brought to our attention, we could have addressed them with the individual. Airing grievances on social media sites or employment forums and hiding behind the anonymity of the internet may enable some people to feel that they can say anything, even when it’s not true. That said, while we don’t agree with all that is said below, we do share their opinion with their statement in the “Pro” section…we wholeheartedly agree that the people within the company are the hardest working people and that they are the backbone of the organization. We couldn’t be more proud of each and every person who is employed by us.
