Pros

Average pay Fixed working hours

Cons

Management, especially the CEO. He insisted on not learning my name till I stay in the company for 3 months. High employee turnover, not many people stay in the company for long time Leadership at all levels is highly unmotivating Old system- Their warehouse software is from 2003, and they refuse update it for any penny

Pros

Most of their mid to high-quality furniture is great

Cons

Long hours, especially for managers and work-life balance is not great. 50-60 hours a week minimum and during promotions, managers are sometimes required to work 8, 9, and even 10 twelve-hour days in a row. Raises don't happen here, for any type of employee and compensation is not competitive with most similar retailers. Stone age technology governs their entire business and some of their stores are literally falling apart. Homeless people, leaking roofs, flooded toilets, mold, mildew, roaches, warping floors, lightless parking lots at night, and so much more. Recent management changes have DECIMATED their level of customer service, causing major drops to their satisfaction ratings. The owners absolutely don't care about you whatsoever and treat employees as expendable at best. Turnover is extremely high and morale is at rock bottom. Between 10 and 15 employees have left the company(10% of the company) in 2020, just in the South Florida region alone. No effective marketing in the greater South Florida area and most locations have VERY low foot traffic. Not a pleasant place to work or spend your hard-earned money at.

Scan Design (FL) Response

When making any decisions involving staff or clients, we make sure that everyone has the best possible experience at Scan Design. In doing so, we have found uniform processes have a positive impact on these experiences. We encourage our managers to run their facilities as if it were their own and our expectations and compensation reflect that. Planning and scheduling are part of being a professional manager. Our promotions are scheduled well in advance and good planning by management is helpful in preventing an over worked situation. We are continuously investing in our facilities, technology and fleet to enhance both the customer and client experience. As our client experiences are critical to our success, requests and suggestions for improvement are always welcome. We continually evaluate our compensation and benefits packages and are confident that we offer competitive compensation and an excellent benefits package to all level of employees; 75-80% company subsidized/low deductible healthcare and matching 401K just to name a few.
