Rare to find work this meaningful. Was a pleasure to do stuff that matters. The residents and guests really appreciate the staff and the work the staff do to serve them. I was often more appreciated by the residents than I was by managers.
Cons
I worked there almost 5 years, gave plenty of notice I was transitioning out. On my last day I got a dozen emails from my boss asking me to attend to tasks and zero acknowledgement that it was my last day. It was disheartening to find out how little management thought of the time I had put in.
