      too much cost-cutting and outsourcing

      Pros

      Decent salary and benefits. Good people tried to do the right thing.

      Cons

      Lacked clear management direction. There were disagreements between various levels of management. Environment became more and more difficult to work in as office gutted by cost-cutting and outsourcing.

      Outsourcing everything is the company

      Pros

      Was once a great company. Conventional but effective software development process.

      Cons

      Had a terrible CEO, who made a lot of absurd restructuring and almost killed their media server business. Current CEO is much better, but unfortunately he has chosen to continue the policy of milking the media server business by outsourcing everything. Talents are lost, along with their knowledge. If the outsourcing turns out to be not great, this company is doomed.

      It used to have brilliant technology and good deal of market.

      Cons

      Mislead goals. Company outsourced workforce and investors money to Asia. The whole Burnaby is let go, so there is no future in the Canada office at all.
