I worked at Precision Castparts full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - company name is known throughout aerospace. - can give you good aerospace experience. - paycheck in meantime while you look around. - lots of big talk

    Cons

    - company name (PCC & Noranco) is sinking amongst Ontario aero industry due to late lots, employee turnover, and leadership departures. - people are cut just to fix budgets every quarter. - they have laid off people with only 6 months tenure. - lots of book cooking in metrics and dollars. - they have embedded the layoff & firing terms in your hiring contract

I worked at Precision Castparts full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Good benefits incl RRSP match. - If you tow the company line 24/7 you will move up, but you must be willing to stab on the way up. - As long as you make the numbers for the week and month, no problems. - If you are one of chosen ones, there is lots of training given.

    Cons

    - Very stressful - situation and plans always fluid. A few of management team (4) quit in 2016. - This is an American owned company, only workoholics will survive. - They will force the answer they want out of you, it's your problem to figure out how to meet that target. - You must quit before finance decides you're more valuable off the payroll.

I worked at Precision Castparts for more than a year

    Pros

    • Drew upon blueprint designs, engineering drawings and CAD designs to identify industry-standard specifications. Connected directly with Team Leads and Supervisors to inform on any changes. • Provided stamp of approval behind all parts analyzed. Applied leading edge skills in shadowgraphing to identify very precise discrepancies. • Completed analysis of newly manufactured parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), performing root cause analysis to identify potential manufacturing problems including issues with the machining table. Apply leading edge skills in shadowgraphing to identify very precise discrepancies.

    Cons

QA in PCC is really a challenging to show my skills and learned a lot about the floor, quality and the strict tolerances about the aerospace products. But physically hard to stand in long shifts.

    Pros

Great learning experience, hands-on projects, opportunity to experience various roles and different sectors within the aerospace industry.

    Cons

Very data driven company, with morning line walks to analyze data daily with top leadership in several meetings back to back. Delays the actual start of the day and you may have to back track to find an answer from a shift that you did not work.
