Private Equity Ruins Everything

Pros

Great coworkers, exciting tech at the time.

Cons

Private Equity ruins everything. Our reward after hitting the “best quarter ever” was to be told by our drug-addled CEO that we can’t “live in the past” and he berated members of the leadership team for not getting off to a stronger start that current quarter. Shortly thereafter a few of the top (competent) leaders left, (including the role that calculated our commissions), the CEO was fired, a clueless bootlicker was put in to replace him, and a round of layoffs took out 50% of Sales, all of whom were stiffed on their quarterly commission (which was roughly 1/2 of their overall compensation). A few months later management had the audacity to try to bring some salespeople back - all of whom laughed as they went on to work elsewhere.

Pros

The company looked promising at first until encountering a specific group that ruins the experience.

Cons

- Extremely toxic work culture, heavy on discrimination and cronyism. - CEO's inner circle behaves as if they own the entire company. - Constant bullying and open contempt toward others, treating people as if they are beneath them. - Working in an environment where people act like your enemies makes it one of the worst places imaginable.

Pros

Remote work with flexibility, some good people

Cons

- The company has made two mysterious acquisitions that appeared poorly planned and executed, both resulting in significant financial losses that caused massive layoffs. Repeating the exactly same mistakes raised questions about the actual intent of these acquisitions. - Over the past 2.5 years, the company has gone through nearly 10 rounds of layoffs, reducing headcount by approximately 70–80%. Two of them were mass layoffs each eliminated 50% of employees. These layoffs often followed after hearing how well the company's financial situation is. - Despite significant workforce reductions, the company continued to expand its C-level and executive team - Employees are pressured to like and repost LinkedIn marketing posts on a daily basis. On at least one occasion, a C-level executive stated that engagement was being tracked and monitored
