      Great company with an unfortunate parent

      Pros

      Phenomenal work culture Great product to work on Open source Perfect work life balance

      Cons

      OpenNMS was bought NantHealth a couple years ago, and NantHealth is really the nightmare parent company. They're the perfect stereotype of greedy, dismissive, and effete corporate overlords. They stonewalled the progress of OpenNMS' development for months as they nickle and dime and drag their heels. And now that they're having their own difficulties, OpenNMS gets to suffer and is downsized. God awful. I adored working at OpenNMS, but NantHealth took the good thing and let it wither.

      Nice environment, lots of knowledgeable people. Unlimited PTO but realistically 4 weeks + Christmas week.

      Cons

      Company is in a downward spiral, bad top decisions.

      Pros

      - The core OpenNMS was talented and fun to work with, but are pretty much all gone - Some solid longstanding customers, although they are getting nervous do the layoffs

      Cons

      - OpenNMS is a square peg in a round hole (NantHealth) - managed to make the worst of both worlds - Weak leadership right to the top, with no ability/impetus to make the necessary meaningful changes
