Pros

The owners, Javier Diaz and Odi Banuelos are awesome guys! Real class acts. It was a pleasure working at OSI Engineering. During my interview process I knew I was making the right choice to work for OSI, Javier Diaz and Odi Banuelos. The vision that Javier Diaz and Odi Banuelos have for OSI Engineering was geared toward the path that I was looking for: to be successful in IT recruiting while providing quality and excellent, meaningful service to both clients and candidates. While at OSI, I worked mostly with Javier during my onboarding process and once I got started in daily production. His professionalism, kindness, and courteous personality made me feel at ease. What most impressed me was his knowledge of the IT market and how to leverage his time and success while treating his clients with the utmost respect, providing them quality results in a timely manner. Even though my time was short with OSI Engineering, I created a friendship with Javier and have remained in contact with him since I left the company three years ago. I value his opinion regarding business and recruiting decisions and have reached out to him several times for advice on how to be a successful business owner and leader in the industry. I often still refer candidates to OSI Engineering when I’m not able to help them. I wouldn’t hesitate to work for/with Javier/Odi/OSI Engineering if the need arose and I highly recommend them to any candidates and clients that are considering working with them.

Cons

I know this sounds cliche, but I honestly don't have anything negative to say. I was sad to leave the company so early. The only reason I left was because we moved to Texas.

Pros

Free lunch fridays and the team itself was a pretty good bunch.

Cons

The consultants employed by the company are shielded from almost all of the negative, so their perspective is skewed to a much more positive slant. Even then, benefits are lower than most other agencies. Actual in-house employees are treated like utter garbage and I've witnessed the owner fly off the handle at my former colleagues over the most minor style differences. He is extremely condescending and talks to everyone like they're his 5 year old children. New employees are not afforded the opportunity to receive quality training or learn and grow. Their idea of formal training is a series of outdated webinars which doesn't count for much these days. Processes are not explained or taught yet employees are still expected to know and abide by them. He has an extremely rigid methodology and is the worst micromanager I've ever worked with in my life. If things are not done exactly the way he wants, then he will berate and belittle the offender to the point of tears. No rhyme or reason is given for why processes are in place, just that it's how he's always done it. Constructive inputs are taken with a robotic Zuckerberg smile response and subsequently ignored. In a bait and switch type of transaction, what's promised in the interviews for compensation becomes a much lower comp when the other layers to the commission plan are revealed. He'll only reveal the max comp in initial discussions and the hidden tiers are revealed only on the commission statement. There is a constant turnover in the account management team due to these factors.

Pros

The employees are nice and easy to work with.

Cons

Management treats their employees especially the Account Managers like a pair of socks. They will use the Account Manager to work their butts off and then fire them after they get the accounts for the company. This is their normal practice for the 7 yrs that I was there. I was lucky to last this long but not for the unlucky dozens of Account Managers. You can not trust this management here. They will tell you things you want to hear but WILL NOT deliver their promises. They think the relationships that the Account Managers have built is a walk in the park where the recruiters have the upper hand in the process. You will not go anywhere here in this company. Zero opportunity for growth and advancement. it's a dead-end job.
