Pros
- Great company values and goals. Makes me feel proud to be at a company that focuses on helping people :) - Work/life balance is respected, and leadership understands that burnout is not the path to success. - Unlimited vacation; leadership not only encourages everyone to take the vacation they need (recommended min 1 week per quarter), but also leads by example by actually taking vacation themselves! - Fantastic benefits for both Canadian and American employees (including wellness, learning, phone and charitable giving perks) - Remote friendly! I'm from Toronto, and my coworkers are from all over North America (SF, Seattle, Arizona etc.) - Flexible hours. While there are some set meetings for teams, start/end times are pretty flexible and can be worked out with team lead. Overall, it really does feel like Nearside cares about their employee's well-being. I joined from a Big 4 Consulting firm, and am so thankful I decided to make the switch!
Cons
- Nearside is still a startup, and sometimes there can be a lot of context switching depending on the tasks for the day. - There are only a few in-person office locations. This might not be the place for you if you want to be working in-person and are not located the Bay Area or a select few other cities.
