      Used to be good, but going downhill fast

      Pros

      Lots of good people, interesting products, projects and customers

      Cons

      Since founder (Dr T) retired has been going downhill fast. Wrong people put in positions of power in many projects, and bureaucracy and 'wall street logic' are bringing down good projects. Salary and titles are behind the rest of the industry.

      I feel sorry for NI

      Pros

      There was a time when employees used tot take pride in working at NI. Those were the times when Dr. T was around, company valued employees ( primary stakeholders right?) and in turn employees gave 200%. But things changed rapidly once the new CEO came in. He got busy pointing out mistakes made by previous management and turned things upside down. Within three months 100s of employees were fired, not for performance but for, someone else's mistakes.

      Cons

      If you want to learn and be a part of a fast moving company which values innovation and culture, NI is not the place. You are better off choosing 1000s of other companies. NI used to be one such place but not anymore. I wonder how Dr. T feels about this.

      Interesting projects A good place to start your career

      It's slowly turning into a megacorp. Salaries are low and the new CEO is mostly focused on cost cutting and ensuring shareholders are happier than the employees
