    I worked at Moneris full-time

    Pros

Good place to start, work from home is available. Managers are very helpful as well co-workers, benefits.

    Cons

There is a bit of everything, some co-workers will actually try to help and do their job while others will try to push their job to you to avoid talking to customers. The sense of a team got lost somewhere, at the beginning you get huddles to update the team of what is going on and so on. After some time no more team meetings as long as you take a call that was all that matters. Scheduling was a horrible, in my case, I got picked on by the team and got the worst schedule 2 - 10 for months, the manager tried to help figure out why but the scheduling team kept denying that no one was doing anything when at that time it was all manual work.

    Advice to Management

Having people work fixed hours is possible, other companies that offer support 24/7 gives their employee the option to choose their working schedule. This will help a lot of people and improve their performance.

I have been working at Moneris full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Work life balance
    Salary as per the market
Easy to reach for the upper management

    Cons

Hard to advance in your career (they prefer to hire from outside rather than trusting their employees)
Some politics issue between few teams

    Advice to Management

The company is doing well, specially this year with the new HR improvements and the new culture, but the managers should get this culture and apply it in their teams.
Ask the manager to talk with the employees about the next step in their careers not just the yearly goals which is pointless most of the time.

I have been working at Moneris full-time

    Pros

Transportation is accessible but not enough parking available.

    Cons

One of the worst places to work for. Do not consider working here. If the company makes a job offer, run quickly in the opposite direction. There is no transparency, poor interdepartmental communications and no team building. This is unfortunate because there are people who care but do not matter. Everyone is out for themselves. Moneris has a high turnover rate and reflects a deeply toxic, abusive and bullying work environment. The senior executives are the only ones that are being paid and treated well. Expect lots of micro management, lack of on the job training and lack of respect. Demeaning behavior at all levels of management. Employees are overworked, undervalued, and ostracized. Management and non management incompetency are at all levels in the organization. Any ideas you bring to the table gets declined by management but will use as their own and receive credit for. There are too many inept employees unable to communicate or work together due to politics and/or self involved careerist. It becomes a struggle to get something done and worst of all, dealing with team leaders and managers do not provide support and are nowhere to be found. They spend most of their time in meaningless meetings, drinking across the street, inexplicably working from home, and/or they take extended long weekends.

Chain of command and responsibilities are unclear and changes often. Policies are not followed and no one is checking. The department “favorites” appear to have little to do and no one seems very concerned. The open office concept has created cramped areas, noisy working conditions, lack of work privacy and undermines the ability to focus and get work done. This environment fosters excessive chit chat and exposes us to hear confidential matters that should not be heard. There is rampant sexist and abusive behavior from some individuals but complaining does not help. HR does not address this abusive behaviour. Nothing is done about it even if you report it to HR. HR goes through the motions but the complaint is swept under the carpet.

    Advice to Management

Recognize you have a problem; Management suffers from a serious lack of competent and professional leadership.
Take a good look at your core values. Practice what you preach.
Time to clean house. Get rid of deadwood staff and management. Start with replacing the CEO and her cronies.

On a final note, HR don’t bother making your remarks in response to comments made in Glassdoor. Anyone who has worked at Moneris knows talk is cheap and nothing has changed.
