I have been working at Moneris full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Moneris provides a great collaborative working Environment while giving ample opportunities to perform and shine. I have a great Boss who also interviewed me , he understands his team well and is a great support.

    Cons

Just a bit of traditional approach sometimes like work in office rather than work from home but its not something very difficult. If your Manager understands your requirement , there are no issues.

I worked at Moneris full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Friendly staff, work from home options, good benefits, decent compensation

    Cons

Poor leadership! All execs/leaders are either ready to retire and checked out or looking for personal gain. Most of the leaders including managers, VPs, Directors are looking for person gain and doing their own thing and NOT the right thing. Collaboration across departments is non-existent; everyone is working in silos. There is a lack of structure and many teams with similar roles especially in technology and... product. There are 5 core values in the organization that no one lives by.

I have been working at Moneris full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Accessible food court downstairs. The calls we take are not penalized on how long we are with the customers. I purposely prolong the calls to eliminate the amount of calls that are incoming. The ability to put the customers on hold allows us to step out and take a smoke or bathroom break if needed. A bit of a trick amongst us call centre agents here, hence why call volumes spike up.

    Cons

Ridiculous rotational shifts are given as there are only 3 major contact centres: One in New Brunswick, One in Montreal, and one here in Toronto. These shifts can range from 7am all the way to 10pm so good luck having a social life working here, especially if you are stuck with the 2pm to 10pm shift for 2 months in a row. Calls are constant especially with an understaffed set of agents on the phones. No real... assistance from managers on duty who work remotely at home. It appears their only duty is to alert everyone that there is a spike in calls which everyone probably knows already. Most of the calls are pretty much irate customers who are sick of dealing with the inadequate devices sent out Knowledge is not valued at all. Very minimal pay raise given each year or none at all during some years. If you decide to ever work at this company, be prepared for a lot of corporate virtue signalling which nobody really lives by. No career growth or opportunities either. Company is filled with dead end jobs.

    Advice to Management

No real advice can be really given as mentioned in previous reviews, it appears most of the management have tapped out and are only getting ready for retirement or are looking the other way to minimize work on their end putting the fate of this company nowhere but downhill.

    I worked at Moneris full-time

    Pros

There are some real quality people and business processes at Moneris. It's like a well-oiled machine when it comes to execution.

    Cons

The disruptive cloud of integrated tech and apps has made its way over the payments industry. It was bound to happen sooner or later so big companies like Moneris, GP, CP, FD, etc. need to get quicker on their feet.

    Advice to Management

Place greater focus on end user convenience and less on price. So many small business owners wear multiple hats so they really value efficiency and convenience, even if it costs more.

I have been working at Moneris full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits package and competitive salary, option of telecommuting, camaraderie among employees. Recent, large changes to products and workflow which could go either way. Overall, a good place to work, get your foot in the door, and gain experience, you can go far if you keep your head down and follow the herd. Opportunities for advancement exist and are encouraged.

    Cons

Company is focused on the wrong areas - Neglecting key areas and focusing on its image and marketing, if they don't reverse course or tone it down it could begin to decline. Very 'corporate', with associated numerous supervisors and managers. The departments of the company don't communicate well with eachother, and expectations change constantly. Performance-based scheduling.

    Advice to Management

Focus on real process improvements and provide an open avenue for employee feedback regarding specific process changes, investigate inefficiencies and frequent issues and address them quickly. Performance-based scheduling poorly implemented.
