    Pros

Moneris is a great environment for people who are bright, self-motivated, and career focused. The company invests heavily in training ( both technical and leadership) and there are many opportunities to learn and grow if you are willing to put in the effort and take advantage of the available resources. People are friendly, cooperative, and helpful.

    Cons

parking is limited - but the subway is directly accessible.

    Pros

No pros to consider or anything positive that can be thought of

    Cons

This company is struggling to compete in every way possible and they have done nothing significant to improve things. A complete trainwreck from all levels of the company. And that is one of the major issues as to why this company is failing. There are too many inept employees unable to communicate or work together due to politics and self involved careerists. It becomes a struggle to get something done even for a small client.

From a technological stand point which this company prides on apparently being, technology products and services are very inadequate prompting a lot of merchant complaints and irate feedback. Even on site techs have made complaints due to the fact that all the terminal equipment are refurbished. Email was sent from management to confirm this too.

No development or salary increases in the years I have been there. Cost of living has gone up. This job does not provide any real means to survive.

And worst of all, dealing with team leaders and managers was a severe pain and lowered morale. In the contact centre level I worked at, I would say 80% of the time, team leaders were nowhere to be found and of the remaining 20% of the time when they were available, they did not provide any support or real help especially when call levels were spiking or declined to take any customer escalations. This was due to the fact, that team leaders spent most of their time in their meetings with each other, drinking across the street, inexplicably working from home, or they had taken extended long weekends.

Employees are overworked, undervalued, and ostracized from the company culture here. This is also evident in that they have resorted to hiring staff from third party job placement agencies as a to way to conserve costs and dispose the workforce whenever they desire.

    Advice to Management

Talk is cheap. Practice what you preach in those Town Hall meetings instead of just assuring everything is fine with gimmicky video presentations. Otherwise, keep doing what you are doing now, and continue to lose out to competitors.

I have been working at Moneris full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of great people to work with and fair compensation. Visionary in the payment processing industry.

    Cons

A bit below market rate I would say for most roles.

    Advice to Management

Encourage employees with even better market value rates which are on the upper middle to higher class wages to remain even more competitive with the market.

I worked at Moneris (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Relatively good benefits. Some really bright people to learn from. Interesting projects and technologies. Fairly good social environment

    Cons

    - Too much work and not enough people to do the work. Too many individual objectives each year. Each objective requires collaboration of multiple individuals and departments each of which have their own objectives which may not dovetail with your objectives. The result is very little gets accomplished and projects drag on for months and years. Projects scopes are typically ramped up at the beginning by business to ridiculous levels then cut down to minimal deliverables in order to claim something, anything was accomplished by the end of the quarter. Finally many projects are delivered, forgotten, unused and everyone moves on to next objective.
    - Very congested, noisy and disruptive working environment not conducive to getting serious work done. I used to go to coffee shop to get work done.
    - High turnover, sick/absentee rates, burnout, overall low morale
    - Much is staff is incapable of performing at level required. Many people just cruise through the day, doing minimum work and keeping their mouths shut about obvious issues and deficiencies so as to be good "team player".

    Advice to Management

Focus on core goals, core projects. If you ask people to work on 10 different projects concurrently, nothing will get done. Stop the inane HR projects. I really don't need "e-recognition" points from a boss who walks by my desk every morning and never says hello or replies to my emails.

I worked at Moneris full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    . . . . .

    Cons

Atleast in Technology department, there is a very low morale, too much politics, managers with no education or experience and low EQ.
Company has flexi-place & flexi-time options but employees in Technology department are not able to use these to improve the quality of their lives and have a balanced life-work because of directors in this department simply not willing to adapt, and HR department with many branches & groups but does nothing to bring change & understanding when approached with concerns! Not a place to grow for people who care, unless you're friend of your boss who happens to be friend of his boss! A lot of Good employees end up leaving at all times. Not a place to recommend to anyone.
