Pros

I don't know what to say

Cons

The Edinburgh team has fostered a highly toxic working environment that has significantly hindered effective collaboration. Team members are often unnecessarily rude and confrontational, creating an atmosphere where constructive communication becomes difficult. What is particularly frustrating is the double standard they exhibit: they frequently make mistakes themselves, yet react disproportionately and critically when others do the same. Over time, their behaviour has included dismissive and manipulative interactions that have made me question my own judgement and contributions. The cumulative effect of these experiences has had a serious negative impact on my mental wellbeing and ability to work effectively.

Layoffs and Leadership Incompetence - Avoid

Pros

The best people to work with - most of which were victims of mass layoffs

Cons

The recent layoffs obliterated the little trust we had left in leadership. Most of the best people in the business were let go, and those remaining are now expected to absorb already impossible workloads while leadership continues to change strategy every week. They seem to have discovered AI so apparently we don't need people anymore. The commercial and operations teams were already under immense pressure before the cuts. With less people, customers are definitely going to receive even worse service than they already have been. The layoff announcement itself was one of the most cold, impersonal, and tone-deaf displays of leadership I've witnessed. They broke the news with an AI written speech with no accountability. Great going! Morale has never been flatter and the talented ones left at the company are voluntarily deciding to quit, because why wouldn't you? Modulr is unstable, directionless, and disconnected from reality. Senior leadership has managed to gut teams, overload the people who remain, and drive away talent in one spectacular own goal. If you're looking for stability, competent leadership, or a company that values its people, look elsewhere.
