Pros

None. No Pros. I got out after collecting one month's commission, that's it.

Cons

This company is for-profit personified. Their recruiters are hired to convince down-on-their-luck, unemployed adults that IT is the hot sector, and that with one or two certificates from their training program, POOF they will be employed. In reality, they are recruiting students that have no business entering IT (no prior experience or certifications), they have no real connections to IT employers (Robert Half does not qualify as an "employer"), and their certifications only hold weight with real employers if the individual has prior experience in IT- and chances are, if they do, they don't need the smokescreen of 8 additional certifications to find their next job. Be wary of promises of easy credentials, employer contacts, and job readiness services- if it sounds too good to be true, it's because it is.

I am not sure this person worked at our company. We don't use, recruiters. because we don't to. We don't put people into student loans. Look at our website www.microtrain.net, there isn't any hype about if you do this then you make that. You won't hear us talk about how easy it is to get a job, because that is almost never easy. It's a process that takes hard work to get our clients, trained certified and hired. We keep it real. Come check us out.

Pros

Like any office, some of the people are nice.

Cons

First and foremost, it’s a company that takes advantage of the unemployed. Don’t let them fool you in the interview; you’ll be telemarketing. It’s an aggressive cold-calling sales culture where the sales team pushes people into training that doesn’t fit them, and screws them out of government money that could have helped them get a job. They make it seem like they’re a community based organization, but it’s all about $$. The CEO has terrible people skills. He’s awkward, rude, egotistical, and paranoid.

We have helped thousands of clients over 20 years achieve employment through certifications, training, and career services. Many clients don't come out of pocket for their training and certifications. We think that's a good thing. There are no student loans at Microtrain. We are a small company of 35-40 with many employees that have been here over 10 years. We are one of the best at what we do, give us a chance to spend time with you at work.

Pros

None. I wrote a previous review that management replied to stating that 'they are not sure this person even worked here'. Trust me, I did, and it was the most miserable year of my life.

Cons

To reiterate what has been stated in many reviews, this company titles all recruiters as 'program managers' and you will be cold-calling desperate unemployed individuals that have no background or business getting into IT. You will follow a script that convinces them they will be successful after gaining a certification in an outdated technology (Microtrain doesn't believe in updating curriculum or certificates because that would cost them money) and they will use the federal grant dollars that they can only access one time to attend training. As someone very familiar with the grant that Microtrain exploits, believe me, a very large percentage of individuals that they reach out to have no business attending IT training- but if you get commission, who cares, right?
