I have been working at Method Studios full-time

    Pros

This is just my perspective, but I find the employees here to be the nicest of any studio I've worked at. There is definitely OT worked and frazzled producers, but in general the people aren't snobby and they listen to any issues I had. And from my perspective, I found HR and recruiting super friendly and happy (as opposed to some reviews I saw).

    Cons

The studio is packed wayyyy too full. I get that another building was set up, but it's still too full in here. Also many of the other studios are offering perks like baristas and more snacks. I think Method will eventually need to catch up to that level of artist appreciation. Compliments only go so far :)

    Pros

-Few really talented and helpful people there.
    -Nice pay.
    -Area is nice.

    Cons

-'Lay off' culture is too strong to build a team here. Such a waste of talented peoples !
-Lack of pipeline and technologies are too old.
-Too many disrespectful behaviors towards artists due to politics and bad egos.

    Advice to Management

Improve your communication skills and stop promising things that you can't honore.
Update your pipeline asap if you want to attract new great project..

I worked at Method Studios full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

it was a good place to work.

    Cons

depends on the department, u may have a manager who ganna mess up the department.
do not take so serious of what the manager "promise” u, cuz they could change their mind in the last mins and tell u "I am sorry but things changed now"
u can not bump up ur wage contract to contract cuz u need to have an annual review. even u had it, u may still stay where u r or how much u get cuz" I m sorry but things changed"

I worked at Method Studios full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive rate. Some great people.

    Cons

Lack of vision. Overbooked. Bad politics and horrible pipeline. Treat artists worse than anywhere I have been.
Lost some key people. And clients.
Turnover is insane across departments and management.
Lack of company culture, and accountability. People got away with murder.

    Advice to Management

    Loose the arrogant free loaders.

I worked at Method Studios full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They had a pretty good culture in some ways. Lots of pub nights, lots of friendly decent people on staff and on contract. The local Head of Production was superb and cared a lot about making the place a decent place to work. She was constantly thwarted by the LA management who completely disregarded the staff.

    Cons

Insane OT on every show because of overbooked shows. Staff would roll over really late into the shows from the previous projects. Forcing everyone into a panic because they were always behind schedule. And instituting a hiring freeze in the middle of that madness?!?!
Local Supervisors were pretty good, but they were always using their LA supervisors who rarely even came to Vancouver and had no relationship with the artists in Vancouver. All the producers were mostly incompetent with a few exceptions. Good support staffing in Vancouver. . As I said earlier the new LA management was awful. Treated us like “Mexicans with Sweaters”. They are very cliquish and demeaning towards the local staff.

    Advice to Management

Curb your arrogance. I hear you have just lost your two biggest clients. Not surprised at all.

I have been working at Method Studios full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Very good at handling immigration matters, good HR service.
    -Nice people to work with.
-Nice film projects, they have all the Marvels, although not the most interesting work.

    Cons

-Toxic management that gets rid of the best people unless they are willing to play politics. Slow bureaucracy that gets in the way of people instead of letting them do their best.
-No interest for R&D, which is a real obstacle in making them the A-player that they claim to be.
-Undersized software team that can't really serve that many artists (500 artists in Vancouver for less than 20 pipeline TDs, and that is including the Show TDs who of course develop less since they support shows).
-In software, a tendency to throw away tools and starting again from scratch instead of trying to recycle them. No care is given about feedback from the artists, only the opinion of production counts.

    Advice to Management

Trust your employees more, empower them more, communicate more on your vision for the future.
