Toxic environment with poor communication and lack of support
Pros
Competitive opportunity on paper. Quiet office environment.
Cons
I worked as a Production Partner at Longbridge Financial, and unfortunately, it was the worst employment experience I have had. From the recruiting process through my final day, I felt that employees were treated with little regard or respect. Communication was largely one-sided, and I never felt that management was interested in hearing employee feedback, concerns, or suggestions. There was little effort to understand individual needs or create an environment where employees felt supported. One of the most disappointing aspects of my experience was that I was encouraged by management to invest time and money into pursuing my Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) licensing. After making that commitment, I requested basic workplace accommodations related to a disability. The very next day, I was terminated. While I cannot speak to the company's reasoning, the timing left me feeling blindsided and deeply discouraged. I had left a previous job to join Longbridge and even moved into a new apartment to be closer to the office because I believed in the opportunity that was presented to me. Instead, I felt misled about the culture and level of support I could expect. My experience was characterized by poor communication, a lack of empathy from leadership, and an environment that I found toxic and dismissive. I would encourage prospective employees to ask detailed questions about company culture, management practices, and employee support before accepting a position.
