He could also change his mind at the drop of a hat and switch directions that affect the whole company. This can be very stressful. It's hard to get resources like software you need to do your job. They often hire subpar contractors (since they don't want to pay well) that struggle to follow directives, making full-time employees' jobs harder. There's a weird dynamic between him and his spouse work-wise. Unlimited paid time off is an illusion since you can't keep up with your workload and take time off easily. The company structure is confusing since it's multiple companies within one.
