Pros

- Fizzy drinks and popcorn - A nice modern office - The BP name being associated with Lightsource

Cons

- Long hours and intense work expected as the norm. - Culture of not caring about work-life balance (work is life). - Not a social culture, very few social events and sessions to get people gelling as a team. - Teams and individuals work in silos and if you like silence you will enjoy this place. - Bankers hours without bankers pay (far from it). - Bonus and LTIP are a big selling point when joining, however none of these will realistically be discussed until after at least 1 full year (policies change on a whim, contrary to what was agreed when joining). - What you are supposed to be doing will never be what you actually do. - Too many manual tasks and little emphasis on using software/automation to ensure you use your time effectively. - A 'quick fix' mentality throughout the organisation, without thinking of improving things better for tomorrow. - Very little in the way of systems, processes and controls. Everything is ad-hoc. - IT systems and servers fall over regularly and old laptops (you are set up to work poorly without the tools to do the job). - Too many historical issues which current staff are expected to fix with ease. - Too much knowledge is held by a small number of people which is not shared effectively so that they are made indispensable. - High employee turnover due to the above.
