Pros

You have the autonomy and flexibility to build your own schedule with support staff and supervisors that are wonderful to deal with. They handle all billing and marketing matters while you provide your best work for your clients.

Cons

They only provide 5 days of PTO at this time with no holidays off which is something I’ve never encountered in 20 years of working professionally. With that flexibility mentioned above, you’re not technically required to work on a holiday that falls on your scheduled day of work - as long as you’re able to shift clients around to other days that week to maintain the minimum amount of clients for full-time status. If it weren’t for the PTO, this would be the best job I’ve ever had.

Pros

Can choose your own schedule

Cons

Poor supervision, don’t place clients with clinical specialties. Accept any clients, even ones who are better suited for PHP’s or inpatient.

Pros

Lifebulb is a good company to work for if you are primarily interested in part-time counseling roles. You will not be micromanaged. They offer several weekly options for case consultation. The lead support person is responsive. The clients are generally motivated. The EMR is pretty user-friendly.

Cons

If you are seeking a full time schedule with Lifebulb, it is difficult to achieve with their current business model. I have worked for the company for nearly 6 months and have been unable to maintain the minimum of 25 clients weekly needed in order to receive full time benefits including insurance, leave time, and internet reimbursement. They are frequently hiring more staff without ensuring the staff who are interested in full-time are able to achieve that goal.
