You are required to purchase their clothes at your own expense if you are a casual staff member. While you initially receive a voucher you soon have to buy more clothes if they sell out in your particular store. This means that you can lose money or barely break even while working here if you are a casual employee. You are required to wear heels while working. This is not only sexist and outdated but unsafe. Frequently employees climb ladders in stock rooms in high heels so not be reprimanded for taking too long. Employees complain of health issues and pain as a result. The company often encourages passive-aggressive feedback like telling women they must smile more, or they walk incorrectly.

Just two words to best describe the experience - toxic and clique-y. Management have absolutely no regard that they could possibly be creating a toxic work environment and making their employees (who are their responsibility) uncomfortable. Had a terrible experience mentally. I wouldn’t be told if I was doing something wrong but would instead be ‘cast out’. Management needs more training to actually be managers - it is their job to ‘train’ their staff! If you own a club, are a size 6, or radiate a ‘I’m popular’ energy - you’ve got the job!
