An experience to forget

Pros

This organization attracts highly committed individuals who prioritize human rights and the fair enforcement of the law above all other considerations.

Cons

I'm uncertain where to begin, as there are numerous problems to address. However, they all stem from senior management. Poor leadership skills have resulted in a high employee turnover rate, as competent people leave the organization early on. To address this issue, JPP has resorted to hiring young people, who may be easier to exploit. However, the bigger issue is that JPP's legal team's experience is undervalued by most law firms, which limits their employment choices. In addition, the HR department and some department heads are also problematic. The management style is highly autocratic, and human rights within the organization have been neglected. Most decisions are made based on hearsay, which only exacerbates the situation. I have more to say, but I'd prefer to move on from this experience and leave it behind.

Pros

Although you'll initially feel that you are learning a lot from your coworkers and supervisor, who have all since departed from the office, you'll have trauma bonded friendships with them. As time passes, you come to realize that what you believed was meaningful work may not have been as significant as you thought.

Cons

Frequently, the executive dictator may exhibit hostile behaviour towards you by shouting, using profanity, and publicly embarrassing you, even though they may occasionally act kindly. Work-life balance is non-existent, as you may be required to work excessively long hours only to be subjected to berating in front of others. Compensation is meager, and the workload is often excessive, with the expectation that you perform the duties of five people for the salary of one. If you come from a modest background, you may experience mistreatment and discrimination in this workplace. Also, HR is a joke there.

Pros

Trauma bonded friendships as a result of the treatment meted out by the Director.

Cons

The Executive Director demonstrates behaviors that is highly concerning. There have been instances where employees have reported feeling disrespected, and they have mentioned experiences of perceived abuse, gaslighting, and inappropriate language in the workplace. Some employees have also expressed that their work has been belittled, and there have been allegations of discriminatory remarks made by the Director. Additionally, there seems to be a pattern of overworking fresh undergraduates while offering comparatively low salaries. This may contribute to a higher turnover rate within the organization. Employees often feel uneasy or anxious when the Executive Director is present due to reported instances of temper and occasional use of profanity. Some employees have raised concerns about workplace misconduct, and it appears that the HR department has not effectively addressed these issues. It is also worth noting that there have been reports of gender-related remarks made by the Director, which some employees have found inappropriate. The legal head has difficulty in effectively communicating the firm's cases or history, as well as a tendency to delegate tasks to junior staff members. Considering the reported challenges associated with the Director and senior management, some individuals have found working at JPP to be challenging and detrimental to their mental health. It is advisable to carefully consider these factors before making any decisions regarding employment at this organization
