Pros

25% discount all year round 50% off work shoe entitlement 4 x a year Always things to be done - no two shifts are the same even in quiet periods. Plenty of opportunity to progress and learn and work your way up within the company. Time goes quickly throughout the day - we are always busy. Courses, schemes, programmes and additional learning opportunities available. Bonus scheme for all staff. Rewards for those who do well - in store incentives, competitions etc. Excellent holiday entitlement.

Cons

Can be stressful at times with short notice given to put on promotions, sale etc. Long hours for management - no overtime - you are expected to come in early / stay late if required of you as with all management jobs. Managers must work every Saturday and are entitled to 6 Saturdays off a year, inclusive of holiday entitlement. No holidays through November, December or any time the kids are off for managers.

Pros

there are no good reasons to work at Jones bootmaker fenchurch

Cons

I applied for a position in jones bootmaker Fenchurch street, the day after I applied i received a phone call desperately from the manager of fenchurch street regarding invitation to the store for a interview neglecting the fact that i held no experience what so ever in retail. So i arrived on Friday 25th NOV for the interview he seemed professional, However when I started my first day on Monday the 5th December i really started to see his behaviour, while i was working as a brand new beginner, i made a mistake with placing the wrong shoe in the box of the stock room so he double checked the box to see if i placed the shoe in the correct box which I didn't out of logical beginner mistakes. The following happened: i said "I made a mistake, He checked it and said “What is this?” Ok stop the booshie excuses. Cut the excuses out. You’re not in school anymore. If I see you do that again..” He’s face changed, made a threat and walked away He literally threatened me guys and i saw the anger raging from his face, let me touch on the next day Tuesday 6th December 2022 (my second day of working there:) He said to me: “You’re moving so slow. Move your pitch up. You keep talking a lot to customers and this is a retail fast paced environment” He repeatedly bullied me and affected my mental health so badly that i had to report this behaviour to the HR Team Lastly, after i completed Tuesday 6th i went to do my next shift which happened on Thursday 8th December 2022, on that day guys you wont believe what he did to me, the following happened: I was running to serve customers, quite physically tired because I'm 7 hours in. He called me to go back to the customers. Manager - “ LISTEN You keep making excuses, have some humility go and serve the customer NOW.” I felt unsafe with this manager at all times and do not wish for anybody to be treated like this. He made me feel like a prisoner. He was highly patronising and his face changed when he spoke to me in private. This person of Jones Bootmaker Fenchurch street store is a bully and an oppressor and i am ashamed and disgraced by how HR can recruit such a person like him, Well guys whoever is reading this i have exposed him to protect you from what he did to me to happening to you. As a result of he's disgusting treatment to me, just reaching my fourth day of working there (LITERALLY MY FOURTH DAY) I had to resign from there immediately by contacting HR This manager has no respect for newcomers and is a bully. Another employee from the same store: She was teaching me how to navigate through the stock room which was massive filled with shoes of different kinds, she taught me a procedure to find any customers desired shoe so as she was teaching me she gave me a little exam test, she told me: if i move this box to this side, where does this other box go, honestly guys i had no clue since this is my first job ever as a 21 year old, so after showing her my confusion she said "JESUS" to basically portray how dumb and stupid i am This is the level of oppression and bullying this manager has caused and needs to be held responsible Disgusting and kind regards God bless and protect all of you readers from such cruelty.
