Executives out of their element

Pros

Great relationships to be made with your peers.

Cons

Executives comes from uber large companies like Cisco and HP and have no idea what's involved in running a small organization. They run marketing programs and expense tens of thousands of leads, and get dozens. They don't know how not to be in a large enterprise. Sales expectations are crazy and everyone knows it. Field level staff have known about this impeding slow down (the QTR misses) for years but no one in exec level wants to acknowledge it.

Decent Product, Poor Company

Pros

Solid product, good customers, good field employees.

Cons

Brought on board in a wave of hiring to help Infoblox "move to the cloud". On Premise product is solid but older. Cloud product would not be ready for 18 - 24 months. Talked with a customer who was upgrading 7 year old system to a 2 year old system. Realized it was going to be 4 years before Infoblox was cloud ready. Started interviewing elsewhere. Infoblox announced poor earnings and had a 5% layoff - I was let go. Best thing that ever happened.

Pros

The Infoblox social environment is stable and comfortable and there is a healthy and balanced work ethic. Products are well understood and work definition is solid.

Cons

Infoblox doesn't provide much mobility in the company, either up or across departments. Infoblox's culture does not foster creativity and proactive thoughts and action in the developers at the lower tiers.
