New hire onboarding was pretty non-existent. Constant team restructures. This is not my first startup, so I expected a fair amount of change. But restructures were executed seemingly on a whim, with limited transition/preparation time. In 23 months, there was four rounds of layoffs. Senior leadership typically doesn’t notify the company at large, regarding the layoffs, they wait for people to awkwardly find out that someone they were working on a project with is no longer at the company. 401k match was “paused” shortly after I started, and never came back at any point during my tenure. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee seemed like a chore to the company, and after the Trump Administration made an executive order targeting DEI, the committee basically ceased operation.
