Pros

- People and co-workers are fantastic. The people are what really made working at Nice-HySecurity great - Good place to get started in technical writing, but not great in the long term view. - Good exposure to technologies and general engineering practices, but everything is very off the cuff in regards to direction and what is really a priority or not.

Cons

-Pay scale is based on the southern Seattle pay scale. Know your worth and ask for what is competitive. Don't short change yourself. -Benefits are terrible. - Management and leadership isn't very forward thinking. - Not an engineering company, more of a marketing company. - Hiring practices not sophisticated. Questionable hiring decisions since recent merger into NICE (Italy). - Processes and procedures throughout all facets of company aren't clearly defined. - Culture of retaining low performing individuals, creates a negative culture. -Culture built on tribal knowledge.

Pros

Great culture, happy, long-term staff, fun employee benefits such a company picnic, monthly town hall, employee of the month etc. A lot of autonomy and trust in office roles. Owner is fully invested and passionate about the company, highly involved yet allows exec team to manage. Excellent product and pride in engineering and quality. Strong 401K investment incentives + matching. Good vacation and holiday policy. Many strong women in a usually male-dominated industry (manufacturing / security / gate operators).

Cons

In a time of change, transitioning from small business mentality to big business mentality. Long-term employees from small business days resistant to change. Some employees with seniority (10+ years) not held accountable for poor performance which can affect moral of high-performing employees. No maternity / paternity policy and health benefits are lacking.
