Pros

Purpose Higson's commitment towards having a positive social and environmental impact is one of the main reasons I love my role. In addition to helping clients to grow and develop, Higson supports a variety of charities: - We donate 15% of profits to Cool Earth - We organise Free to Be Kids' annual fundraiser - We deliver pro-bono workshops to charities and individuals Take a look at Higson's website for more detailed information! Autonomy I appreciate the autonomy that I have in my role. I have not experienced any form of micromanagement at Higson. Outside of my weekly one-to-ones with my manager, which are a great opportunity to discuss my goals and projects, I am trusted to tackle work independently. I am encouraged to spend time each month researching a different topic of interest, and also prioritise my learning and development. Variety The variety of tasks I tackle each week is a key reason why I do not get a "back to school" feeling on Sunday evenings! I love being able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and helping colleagues with ad hoc tasks. This was the case from the start- My 8 week induction was very well balanced, with ample time to learn new things and tackle project tasks.

Cons

Our team typically work in-person together twice a week in a shared office space (Scale Space). As such, we do not have standard designated desks, so the set up is not always extremely ergonomic. That said, we usually schedule our meetings on these days, which we spend in purpose-built meeting rooms. There are also common spaces and focus rooms available.
