Pros

CTO is very capable and kind, Engineering team has been with the company for years and seems pretty happy and productive CEO is passionate but hired a terrible VP of Sales to manage all employees If you're applying as an intern - go for it! They don't pay you, so they don't blame you for anything. It's not a bad place to spend your summer as long as you like to watch actual employees get trampled on and all the drama.

Cons

Try to look objectively at the reviews - they're either extremely positive or negative. This is because they asked their current/former interns to post positive reviews after receiving a slew of negative ones. And check the review dates. Notice how the real ones are spaced out and the 5 star ones are all back to back. Positive reviews are generally short without much content, recurring con being remote work. Negative reviews share recurring themes of poor culture, talking behind people's backs, poor direction/management. They burn through people as if they're trash, assuming it won't come back to hurt them. All you have to do is become the arbitrary target of the month. Look at how many 'former' employee reviews for such a small startup. They can't even keep their COO or founding team together. If you have the misfortune of working under Steph, then just know that petty, passive-aggressive, temperamental, two-faced managers are not the norm. There are better ones out there, and I hope you can find one who creates a positive culture on their team. C-level is too scared or uncaring to get involved in her terrible decisions so you really have no recourse. Any review that says 'you get out what you put in' is a bald-faced lie. I witnessed people who gave up months and years of their lives and worked crazy hours to grow the company, who ended up treated like trash and fired over some random perceived slight. They would say 'they just don't have what it takes' even though last month they were saying that this person was 'a hero'. Don't join this company unless you really enjoy talking behind people's backs, and being talked about; dealing with terrible managers that never stick up for you; and ultimately a company that, regardless of your sacrifices, wouldn't care if you died in the gutter when they decide they no longer need you.

Pros

The company has a great product and vision. They have a fun start-up culture with a high potential for the future. The coworkers were great to work with and I made great friends while there.

Cons

It can be challenging to connect with remote coworkers but we did well and that's start up life so it's not a big problem!
