Pros

The Clinic Assistant position is unionized (two mandatory raises a year, union support if you are unfairly accused of something, etc), the hours are generally consistent (although this varies by department), you get separate vacation time, personal holiday time, and sick time, 401k, very good insurance coverage through the employer. They typically hire very nice people.

Cons

The usual healthcare cons. Specific to the company though, the union can also be a con because if you don't have enough seniority you can be "bumped" from your job (which means that under extenuating circumstances, someone with more seniority can take your job). This happened to me the first year I was there because a slew of (unionized) job positions were eliminated for budget reasons.

Pros

I cannot think of one good thing about working at this company. Everybody that works here has definitely 'drank' the kool-aid. This company may offer ridiculously good benefits, but it will just suck the soul right out of you.

Cons

Working in Member Services was the worst choice I ever made. Member Services has the worst practice for allowing people time off. If you're new, don't plan on being able to use your PTO for at least a year. Even appointment time is hard to come by, which is only a 2 hour slot, and then you have to 'make-up' your time. The rules and structure of this department are ridiculous. You are schedule 1-15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch. I'm pretty sure this isn't legal since if you're hourly you are supposed to have 2-15 minute breaks. If you are taking too much time working on 'pending' work, they will tell you to stop and get on the phones. While the benefits are decent, I would never stay here. They don't seem to really value their employees that much.
