- unfair work allocation - the better staff have more projects/clients than others. - management is disorganized and most will micro manage. - busy season hours are comparable to Big 4, if not more. - stickler for chargeable hours - management will check hours weekly, some daily, even during non-busy season. - a lot of menial work for international tax - other firms usually have separate teams that handle these type of projects. - tiny retirement benefits - I received approx. $2,500 in benefits for my 3+ years. - confusing firm culture - you don't get the close family culture of a small firm and you don't get the name recognition for resumes of a national firm or Big 4. Fun Fact - annual promotions are "effective" July 1st, BUT if you plan to leave the firm within 2 weeks after July 1st, they will RESCIND your promotion that you've already earned and worked for.
