Pros

- overtime pay for staff - health and dental insurance paid for - pre-COVID - free busy season lunches and dinners in office

Cons

- unfair work allocation - the better staff have more projects/clients than others. - management is disorganized and most will micro manage. - busy season hours are comparable to Big 4, if not more. - stickler for chargeable hours - management will check hours weekly, some daily, even during non-busy season. - a lot of menial work for international tax - other firms usually have separate teams that handle these type of projects. - tiny retirement benefits - I received approx. $2,500 in benefits for my 3+ years. - confusing firm culture - you don't get the close family culture of a small firm and you don't get the name recognition for resumes of a national firm or Big 4. Fun Fact - annual promotions are "effective" July 1st, BUT if you plan to leave the firm within 2 weeks after July 1st, they will RESCIND your promotion that you've already earned and worked for. Typical company that doesn't care about their employees.

Pros

Hybrid work environment, work from home

Cons

The SALT service line of this firm is a joke, they don't have simple tools to support the tax preparers on the team. The management is disorganized and they will blame you for their own disfunction. There is a partner who thinks that the best way to use their status in the team is to get people fired
