Pros

- Decent starting salary, even for entry-level team members (eng, cs, marketing) - Lavish team dinners, team retreats and holiday parties - Access to cool clothing, shiny equipment, and "influential"people in the fashion space - Cool office in SoHo, snacks and beverages. - "Unlimited" vacation - Opportunities to grow outside your role (however, don't expect a title change or pay increase)

Cons

Working at Grailed was a weird experience in all aspects. Team leads were primarily all guys, with superiority complexes—often times second questioning POC/Women to be of equal value for roles in leadership. Initially, the clout and cool factor of working at the cross between fashion and tech was exciting, but faded quick once the toxicity of the workplace culture seeped into play. When I first ramped up, they fired over 6 women who seemed fully capable in their roles. After asking around, it seemed like it was due to strong opinions, and a serious lack of direction/leadership. They even let go of their CMO, and the replacement hire which should've been a red flag upon joining. It was pretty clear that if you didn't believe in the CEO's Arun's overall vision (which changed every week) you were not a good fit. And if you had strong justified opinions about the product and company goals, you would be faced with tons of questions from people playing the "Devil's Advocate". They launched a women's platform, without a clear strategy, and the team inevitably failed. A few weeks ago they even sent a mass-email stating that they were shutting it all down, which goes to show that it was never set up to succeed in the first place. Comments made in the office were often times "Locker Room Talk" and weird and uncomfortable to hear as a dude. At one point, I overheard a colleague commenting on a female co-workers physique and "exotic" features. Weird stuff like that. There were also numerous workplace relationships, which is usually fine, however definitely did not feel appropriate at times, and felt uncomfortable to be around even. Also, so much vape smoke in the air, which was really weird? We had people who were part of the board come in, VC's, etc, and that just seemed like a bad look. In terms of the work, there was autonomy. However, if you made a mistake, you probably would't hear the end of it. And feedback about the product was always taken personally, which is probs why it's stayed the same over the years. In all, bad vibes, environment and leadership. Don't be surprised if you join and people are leaving left and right, it's probably best for their mental wellbeing.

Grailed’s culture and leadership team have evolved materially in the past few years. We have brought on a slate of experienced executives, directors, and managers that not only bring a wealth of marketplace technology expertise, but have also added depth to our organizational maturity, planning and leadership. In the last year we have more than doubled the number of non-male employees and are always looking to invest further into diversifying the team. We appreciate all of the hard work employees have put into making Grailed the success it is today, and wish you the best of luck in your career!

Pros

It's really cool to tell your friends you work at Grailed, even better that Kendall Jenner might pop in from time to time. They raised a lot of money so have all of the resources they need. They also make cool swag, work on really cool brand collabs and are dominating the resale space when it comes to mens high fashion. People work hard, sometimes. They will pay you whatever you ask for.

Cons

Leadership team is extremely immature, main cause -CEO is Extremely irrational and almost dictatorish in his leadership style. This is not an environment where autonomy exists. Progress, decisions and any builds come to a complete halt if CEO doesn't approve but he also has a hard time making any type of strategic decision (it's probably because he's never had any other job, ever, aside from working for himself). This is not a female friendly environment. Women can't have opinions and are not supported- many are let go when they try to bring logic into any conversation. It apparent externally aws well in how little love is put into Heroine (womens site) and how much is put into Grailed (mens site). CTO's personal Grailed account got hacked, which is laughable... There are some really great and smart people that work there but are under utilized because of the leadership style of the CEO. Example- CEO would disappear for a week or more anytime he had to make a big decision (as a CEO, that's literally your main job ....) which paralyzed the business since nothing could get pushed thru without his complete buy in. They also use their fundraising money to go on no expense spared vacays among the bros in the office. People never get any type of objective feedback then get fired randomly without logical or identified cause. They've had a lot of great ideas in terms how to to innovate the product but none have gone into fruition. If you are a man, like rick owens and say yes a lot and vape probably a good fit. If you are looking to grow your career and learn and are not a man, this is not a place that will provide any of that.

Pros

Fair pay and good benefits

Cons

Engineering management acts like their employees are friends or unfit servants. Opportunities are granted exclusively by tenure or friendship -- never considering ability or track record. Intense 'insiders club' culture -- where not being an insider means you are being precisely monitored, by the second, for failure. You will be micromanaged - asked for constant status updates - until you feel sick. Culture rewards incompetency - hard work is actively punished. Expect to be sabotaged, mercilessly, at every single turn. Senior engineers get zero responsibility -- just 'code tickets.' It's absolute utter insanity. I've never experienced such toxicity in a tech culture in my life & I have been in industry for many years at many companies.
