Due to the nature of the work, junior and some mid-level staff with technical backgrounds and advanced degrees are stuck doing intellectually boring work about 80% of the time. Workload is incredibly volatile and management does not make much of an effort to ensure that younger staff are able to fill their time with billable work. Turnover rate is high. Pay is very unequal throughout the company. Most clients are what you would consider "the bad guys".

Some of the principal scientists have questionable ethics (and have been called out for it) The clientele is not always on the side that you want to work on, but it is consulting, so it may not be for everyone. Quite a high turnover rate Emphasis on utilization rates is impossible--staff are fabricating their hours to make up higher utilization rates. In fact, staff don't even account for time to go to the restroom or to eat.
