Good company for learning but not for growth.

Pros

You can learn a lot if you are a good learner. Genus has good team of energetic and talented engineers.

Cons

Genus has the shortage of good leaders. Engineers are doing excellent job but due to lack of leadership quality in the Managers the efforts of engineers go down and didn't come out with the full effect. If you want to grow in Genus you need to do buttering to the boss and management only support their disciples so you don't have to be talented to grow. So, spend 3-4 years to learn and take a jump for growth.

Pros

Genus offers good benefits, especially through their Flare HR platform. There’s solid flexibility with remote work options, and a strong sense of autonomy — you’re trusted to manage your workload without micromanagement. The work-life balance is generally positive, and management is approachable.

Cons

There’s limited room for career progression or professional growth within the company. The IT and tech side of the business is relatively small, so opportunities to develop in that area are minimal. It can feel like the focus is more on operations than innovation.

Pros

It's quite easy to be seen and make an impact. The work is challenging but tech is cool!

Cons

Not as central as other companies in Oslo. As a software developer, there is only one big product we work on, so variety can be an issue.
