I have been working at GIRO full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I have been working at GIRO full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The work is really interesting and challenging. I am passionate about transit, so it's great to work with the largest agencies around the world and help them plan better networks and optimize their ressources. Although I'm always busy, I never feel excess pressure or negative stress related to my job. My collegues are all really smart, but really down to earth and fun to work with. Management is close to the employees and really take our well being to heart.

    Cons

Honestly, there aren't really any cons...

I have been working at GIRO full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Very friendly work environment and amazing people to work with. Interesting and challenging problems to face where hard work and talent actually get noticed. Working on the Projects team means you get to also travel and deal with the client side of things. Flexible hours and they throw great parties which are all-expenses paid. Great company for a programmer who wishes to transition to a more project manager/business analyst role

    Cons

They use older technologies and must maintain a lot of legacy code. Technological knowledge acquired is very specific to GIRO and hard to translate to another company, however if you wish to transition to a more project manager/business analyst role then it isn't a problem because those skills can be carried over.

    Pros

Good workplace, with great work flexibility to keep a good balance between professional and personal life. Opportunity to travel. Great people in the company always looking to help. Great internal support and coaching. Nice business domain, public transport is very important nowadays and it's evolving and full of challenge.

    Cons

Travel benefits could be better. In-house tools can sometimes feel outdated, even tough they get the job done.
